Have you launched the flash tool with administrative rights? (context menu -> execute as administrator) If not, it won't work (you are flashing a device afterall).

Download 2014 version of MTK drivers(not sure if there's any difference), and keep trying as flash tools 5 seems a bit buggy, but it works when it does connect. Have your battery out, connect the cable and press download, if it fails keep pressing download untill it connects.

    W7 x64 here too.

cwm 6.0.4.4 for s9 can be found on needrom.com. it allows to root this. great.

actually the cwm (which is great, no doubt here) does not allow to root the device, and I think one needs root to flash the recovery (at least from the phone, I haven't succeeded without). This being said, MTK phones have generic methods for rooting which are both simple (simple choose and click) and work. have a look at xda forums.

are you sure this phone has MHL? I didn't think so… (and that would explain your lack of luck with the adapters ;) )

    Hello all

Finally managed to install Play Store and all standard Sync.
However, runing Antutu out of the Box after installing new firmware gives me a score of 18000 …whereas doing this after installing "original" firmware gives 26000 :)
So i do believe they decreased the performance to spare some energy or somehow something like this. Moreover some services are not present like NFC etc… To be continued
