Features ROM:
Note that there are two different examples of G3:
1) G3
2) G3N
1) has a chipset MT6620
2) has a chipset MT6628
how to recognize: all devices with build (in product info): 20130223-071508 G3N and later fitted with a chip MT6628, the oldier mount MT6620 chipset
the roms for the G3 are not compatible with the G3N and vice versa
differences:
flashate if a wrong rom (for example a rom on G3N G3) not work properly: WIFI, BT, FM radio and GPS, so if you do not work none of this hardware, you probably have the wrong rom, download the one for the other device and riflashate .

IN MY ROMS JB 4.1.2 The Tethers ARE PERFECTLY WORKING!
settings added:
in developer options: factory mode and engineermode launcer;
in management sim, dualsim Ringer settings
fixato dualsim ringer and added some scripts to:
optimize and speed up your system: Zipalign, optimization and system ram, and supercharger
(If you do a restore after the installation you lose a part of the supercharger script …..)
more … in: -> tethering / portable hotspot: Ervius tether natter settings
updated boot logo, changing image!
applications that are put in settings are invisible in "programs"
optimized still the build.prop, and, of course the old changes:
reduction to 10 ms vibrio button operation
SMS long (No more self-transformation in mms sopo 3 concatenated SMS!)
extended PowerMenu (adding the "recovery" to reboot in recovery mode)
disbilitato the red LED to charge less than 15%
stretched to 5 seconds the flashing LED notifications (blue and green!)

ATTENTION ALL ROMS MAKE A FULL WIPE! (Before flashing make a full backup of your system and data)
you can 'perform two types of installations for the roms
a) clean istall: installed the rom from recovery modded!
b) istall with recovery: from clockwork mod, make a backup (only data and cache), installed the rom, you restore and reboot, you will have all vistri data and programs but on a brand new rom!
PS: If you come from a ICS 4.0.4, nn do a restore after you have installed the 4.1.2 JB, or the phone to reboot will go in boot-loop (nn will start and you will have to reflash the rom!)

Install ROM:
Only add to the procedure used with Recovery LEWA:
1) Backup essential, always.
2) Factory reset
3) Wipe Dalvik cache and cache
4) Install zip (Rom)
5) Wipe cache and Dalvik cache
6) Reboot
So start the first time, quickly and completely clean.
With Titanium restore all your applications.

I have a G3N and am now 10 days with this rom, it is really good.
Only issue is with the GPS, it seems to be inconsistent, sometimes it's working but most of the time it doesn't. sometimes will get a fix in 5 minutes and sometime in 2 seconds. It's realy weird, unexplainable.
I tried to go in engineer mode and enable AGPS and EPO settings, it helped for a while and then it went back to not working, it's really frustrating.
Is there anything you can do about it ervius? thanks.

have tested 3 headsets (both – 1 button) - one – as I have described, secondary – from LG smartphone (like this but with 3.5 mm jackhttp://www.telefon.at/produkt......oducts_id=54034) and 3rd from HTC RADAR.
All 3 – nothing! besides – hang on - hang off,
no any reaction in multimedia players (jetaudio player, mortplayer, standard, mxplayer) also no any reaction in Headset Button Controller. Also I have installed key spiders: KeyTest.apk and KeynrTracker.apk – both of them did not show any scan code for pressed, holded, etc (nevertheless any type of pressing) of wired headset button.
I have also tested headset on Motorola smartphone (Android 4.1.2) with it's headset (Motorolla 1 button headset) – Headset Button Controller application – detected button pressed and so on, also MortPlayer works perfect!
In analog of kbd mapping file (like mtk-kbd.kl for Jiayu G3) – there is such additional line: key 167 VOICE WAKE_DROPPED.
So, my guessing is – that there is something missing on the kernel driver level or in mapping files (but in which ones and then why mentioned above key input scanners did not detect nothing key code!).
May be you know \have guessing – what could be possible reason and how to spy keycode (if it exists) on your ROM ?
I am also going to write request to manufacturer about if there is support for wired headset button – so will write my news. (I am going to get it working! even if I will be forced to write\rewrite driver\some java code).
finally I had a headset with call/endcall button, and nothing appen when I press it, only if I'm in comunication, long press ends the call….. seems that really they lost some code inside rom….. for now, nothing to do!!!

I found this Android 4.2 ROM for a mtk6577. Maybe this can be used as a base for the Jiayu g3! This is for the Lenovo ideaphone s890 which is a mtk6577 phone.

Hi ervius! or anyone who can help me solve this problem…
i used the build 4.0 version for a while.. until i installed 4.1 roms.
Currently im using your ROM, but this problem occured with the other 4.1 versions.
My battery drains too fast.. like 15-20% within an hour of almost not using the device. everthing is unabled except the data con.. (WIFI , bluetooth, gps..)
the only problem i can point on, is that the phone not allways get into "deep sleep", but even if he's deep sleeping the battery still drains fast.

it's a common problem of JB, (I tryed to optimize battery drain, in my possibility….. I think it' s a kermel problem…..) but, if you are unhappy, the only one thing is to return to ICS rom
hey evirus this rom works perfectly, most other roms keep forgetting my widgets and launcher settings but this works great and the led works too
there is only one problem which keeps worrying me, i emailed but you might check here first so here goes
lookout antivirus keeps flagging stock contacts app, says the following:
classification: spy.android.winkie.c
this app contains an add network that may store details and report app details about calls you make to a third party server. it reports the number called, the time the call was made, and how long the call lasted for calls made to specific numbers provided from the server. it also uses your imsi to identify you to the server. the imsi is sent unencrypted over the internet
is this right or is it flagging an innocent app?

First of all thanks for the great custom ROM you build and all the time and effort that it takes from you. Your ROM looks and works perfectly.
I have read all the comments on this ROM on this page and saw a comment from dobrado about the battery drain and your respond to it. But I would like to extend the question
Do you know or think that the kernel will be patched for better battery life?
And do you know where to find the official Jiayu ROMs (I have a 3GN). I would like to test how big the battery drain is different from both ROMs.

1 only when, and if theyy will be release sources of G3 kernel
2 on this site, look for stock 4.0.4 of 26.02 buil, iff I remember well.
this is a surprice for me, contacts.apk is original from 4.1.2 jiayu G3 rom, and seems strange if there is a kind of spyware on….. I think is a false positive…..
Hi everyone. I have been stuggling with the GPS the whole weekend. Tried several GPS fixes, none worked. The only fix that does work perfectly is the following:

So If you have any problems with your Jiayu and GPS, try above fix. I got my GPS fix in less than 12 seconds now in all applications.
