M12N ( ACEMAX & ENYBOX X2 & MXQ Plus ) 2/16 GB Android TV Box 2018

Author adMember Info

DESCRIPTION

This ROM es for Beelink GT1 (6255) Android TV Box but works in M12N manufactured by ShiningWorth with different brands ( ACEMAX, ENYBOX X2, MXQ Plus, … )

The essential features that an Android TV Box must meet for this ROM to be compatible are:

- Processor Amlogic S912
- RAM Memory 2 GB
- WIFI chip AP6255

How to install this ROM:

Unzip the ZIP files on PC Desktop or any other directory

Run Burn_Card_Maker for the installation of GT1_707N0_AP6255.img on a microSD card

Copy update.zip on the microSD card

Insert the microSD card into the M12N device

Run the UPDATE application of M12N and look for update.zip

Note: Beelink GT1_707N0_AP6255 firmware of 2017 Nov 6, works very well in Acemax M12N and android is updated to version 7.1.2. The Wi-Fi connection works well at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I have not seen any errors in the firmware and everything works very well.

Acemax IR Remote Control does not work. I solved this by recording the IR POWER command of MINIX IR Remote Control on my Fly Mouse Remote Control with the help of the IR EMITTER on my smartphone, and I can now turn on and off the Acemax M12N from my Fly Mouse Remote Control.

I do not know if the 100 Mbps ethernet connection works because I only use Wi-Fi at 5 GHz.

The RAM used after the update is between 50% and 85% depending on the number of applications started.

I updated on the Enybox X2 yesterday which is approaching 2 years of age. It was running 6.0.1 … the LAN port does stop working, which you can workaround with one of those travel routers that convert a wired signal to a wireless signal. The peformance is a little laggy after the update, but you do get Android N 7.1.2 so some more service life out of your device and of course splitscreen which is AWESOME on a TV!

I'm certainly not sad to see "Make Your Life Colourful" splashscreen go away, the Beelink one looks much better.

    Some tips though:

    - The windows app is not in English but you can figure it out with some hesitation to create the Micro SD card correctly.
    - Disable some of the built in apps and update Chrome and the GAPPS
    - Run your own launcher I use N Launcher Pro and Flight Light Icon Pack and TV Launcher, love TV Launcher!
    - Set your own launcher as the default for home button so it starts upon boot
    - Turn on developer mode (multiple click build number in settings > about device)
    - With dev mode on, you can enable window mode
    - With dev mode on, you can also tweak the DPI settings to scale up and down the display to what you need on your TV
    - The device name changes from X2 to … "Beelink GT1"
    - Bluetooth fly mouses are much better anyway and you don't need line of sight. I use "Power Menu +" app to turn off and reboot the device
