ROM Mobile STAR B94M/B943 – ROM Android 4.2.1
For Quad Core version ONLY MT6589
Features ROM:
New JB 4.2.1 ROM available, given by the manufacturer.
The build.prop says it's a ASK SP460 HD, but it doesn't matter
All works perfect:
Wifi stable
3G stable
Antutu: 14100 points (version 3.3)
Network localsation and GPS works fine (but GPS may need a modified gps.conf for Europe)
[How to] Installation:
Make backup
Switch off the phone, connect usb and remove the battery
You must use SP flash tool and flash the firmware.
Select the scatter file given in the download
Then click download, and put the battery. After it's finished, remove the usb connection, and restart the phone.
Root and recovery are possible too, download the link, and use SP Flash tool in the same way. It's preferable to install TWRP instead of CWM, the Root is proposed at the end of the next recovery.

I've baked a new build.prop file in order to improve some stuffs:
- Powersave tweaks: to activate the deep sleep mode. Indeed there was no parameters for the deep sleep mode in the native ROM. But be carrefull, the synchronization in mail acompt settings shut it down and kill the service until reboot. So shutdown your synchro if you want to save battery.
- 3G improvement tweaks
- Network and internet improvement tweaks
- Return of the B943 model name… bye bye ASK SPK460 HD ^^
[How to] Installation:
Download this File on your computer: Build_STAR_B943_23042013.zip
- Extract it and copy the build.prop file on your Sdcard (on the phone)
- From the phone, open a file explorer with root rights (Root explorer for me)
- Then copy build.prop, go into root / directory of the phone, go in /system
- Set the RW (read write) mode in your explorer, and paste build.prop into the /system directory. It will replace the original one (root explorer will make a backup by itself).
- It's not finished !! Don't forget to set the rights of the file, set them on rw-r-r (owner= read write, group= read, others= read)
It's done, reboot your phone

Thanks! I couldn't get root working with my standard 4.2.1 ROM (hiw I got the phone). So I installed the rom first and getting into recovery wasn't a problem anymore. Build.prop changing went fine as well. Super!
i have update 4.2.1 and now trying to root but in the scatter twrp what boxes do i have to check off? my gps work now after the update but no 3g. will the root help me? i have at&t.
I'm having a problem with charging the phone. Using Android 4.2.1 original firmware, when I put my phone on the charger the CPU runs constantly at 1,2 Ghz and doesn't enter deep sleep. How do I fix this?
i found a one click root at droidchina.com.. since i couldnt do it with the flash. i flashed the 4.2.1, did the one click root, need to do the build.prop thing. cant figure that out . can i use es file explorer?
Hi Guys, Talking from Mexico. Have a lot of problems with this new B943. Camera focus Problem (blur photos), Battery Problem (dead in some hours), WIFI problem ( off after some minutes), GPS problem (it work like 3 days … and dead, donnt find any satelite now ) …and like this… God help me to found this site .. But dont undesrtand nothing. When will you begin to talk like HUMANS !! Not like robots .. !!! HAHAHAHA .. So .. if I will tahe the decision to risk my money (because have not more money to buy another phone) (sorry this is the situation in Mexico), can sombody tell me if the new ROM solve all my problems ? (in case I can do it, hahahha ).

Sorry me again. Something else. In Mexico we work with 850 WCDMA … and this phone have something like 2100 … So it it possible also to change this frequency ?? Sorry, only one phone and a lot of questions. Thanks. If was posible to repair this … thing … with Tequila … was better. But it donnt work … I try it !!! HAHAHHAA

To solve the problem of 3G/H+, the solution for me has been to use "maui meta 3G" and I followed exactly the procedure in the video : http://chinaphonearena.com/for.....thread-104.html
The menus are in chinese in the video but the order is the same so… just clic the same thing
… FYI, I had a warning "install GPIB card and visa32"… I didn't do it and it worked fine anyway 
… It was on windows XP SP3 and I used the driver included in the repertory "MT65xx Preloader/Vista/2K_XP_COM".
When you choose the database, a warning appear to tell that it was'nt designed for this phone (it comes from Zopo) but it was really ok for me…
After that, reboot, and.. the H+ is very quick
… FYI, I'm in France ("SFR" network)…
And finally, I installed Notification Light Widget and with that and the build.prop here (thank you !), it's all good for the battery… Just the autobrightness to solve completly and all will be eally fine…
