ROM Mobile STAR B94M/B943 – ROM Android 4.2.1
For Quad Core version ONLY MT6589
Features ROM:
New JB 4.2.1 ROM available, given by the manufacturer.
The build.prop says it's a ASK SP460 HD, but it doesn't matter
All works perfect:
Wifi stable
3G stable
Antutu: 14100 points (version 3.3)
Network localsation and GPS works fine (but GPS may need a modified gps.conf for Europe)
[How to] Installation:
Make backup
Switch off the phone, connect usb and remove the battery
You must use SP flash tool and flash the firmware.
Select the scatter file given in the download
Then click download, and put the battery. After it's finished, remove the usb connection, and restart the phone.
Root and recovery are possible too, download the link, and use SP Flash tool in the same way. It's preferable to install TWRP instead of CWM, the Root is proposed at the end of the next recovery.

I've baked a new build.prop file in order to improve some stuffs:
- Powersave tweaks: to activate the deep sleep mode. Indeed there was no parameters for the deep sleep mode in the native ROM. But be carrefull, the synchronization in mail acompt settings shut it down and kill the service until reboot. So shutdown your synchro if you want to save battery.
- 3G improvement tweaks
- Network and internet improvement tweaks
- Return of the B943 model name… bye bye ASK SPK460 HD ^^
[How to] Installation:
Download this File on your computer: Build_STAR_B943_23042013.zip
- Extract it and copy the build.prop file on your Sdcard (on the phone)
- From the phone, open a file explorer with root rights (Root explorer for me)
- Then copy build.prop, go into root / directory of the phone, go in /system
- Set the RW (read write) mode in your explorer, and paste build.prop into the /system directory. It will replace the original one (root explorer will make a backup by itself).
- It's not finished !! Don't forget to set the rights of the file, set them on rw-r-r (owner= read write, group= read, others= read)
It's done, reboot your phone

Please help me someone! I have got this phone quad core version and i can't call anybody. i have put my sim card and it shows me full signal. But when I call someone it doesn't ring…. and if someone call me sometimes I can answer to his call and talk with him but after 10-20 sec it just putting down without any reason… i rooted it and used the updated build.prop file and it still doing this…. anyone else got this problem? why sometimes it work but mostly i doesn't… I can't use my phone with this issue
Pls help me . I live in Hungary and i tryed 2 band of sims and both of them is doing this.

I tried to install the new build.prop in system, but when I reboot the system, my phone become a brick. The android logo appears and this is all.
How can I solve this problem? Maybe build.prop is corrupted?

I bought my B943 for less than a month and installed this rom thought that solved the problem of running out of network when 3g is active, and the problem of overheats when I use a gps navigator. Not resolved, even after installing the update. After a few days the 3g and gps issues returned.
Does anyone know where I can download the original rom.

I could not install the room but I rooted the phone and I installed the google apps and the problem I had with GPS is already solved and that was my objective.
I am not very used to root phones, just average user. My last phones were huawei u8650 and htc desire and I tried a lot with them. I have star b94m four days and It is risky for me to root the phone but I admit it is worth it. Also to recommend to make back up before install anythink.

The rom works perfect in my b94m.
I got two smartphones b94m, one is mine and other is my girlfriend´s phone. This rom works perfect in mine but not in my girlfrind´s phone. She had problems with the screen having horizontal bars of light and blinking. I had to unistall and put 4.2.2 that works perfect in her mobile.

hi, the rom is great but i have a problem though… the MAC changes everytime i turn on and off the WIFI, is that a regular problem? it can be fixed? i have a router with MAC filtering so i can't be changing the MAC everytime on the router config… thanxs in advance
