DESCRIPTION

FINALLY, after 2 sleepless nights, I have finally found an original recovery rom / firmware for the new range of branded / unbranded range of F5189 MTK8389 Android Note 7.0 Phone Tablet.

Models include: Tengda F5189 / Star F5189 / HDC Galaxy Tab 7.0 / Fengpai F5189 etc…..

I flashed it with a rom suggested for the Star HD89 – *** DO NOT USE THE STAR HD89 FIRMWARE! its VERY BAD ***

Therefore, I hunted around, and found the HDC Galaxy Tab 7 rom, which brought my tablet back to original life and original firmware rom, like brand new again.

I'm sharing to save others the head-ache of searching for the original firmware rom.

STEP 1 :: Install Drivers – MT65xx preloader driver (to Connect MT65xx devices with SP Flashing Tool)

STEP 5 :: Flash with SP Flashing Tool

*** Instructions, with DEVICE OFF - Load 'scatter.txt' file – Press FIRMWARE / UPGRADE button, THEN Plug In Device, it will run, take approximately 3 minutes, when you see GREEN CIRCLE window appear, unplug, restart device, all done! ***

※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM

Hi
I just ordered a Star F5189 Fonpad MTK8389 Quad from aliexpress.
Could you please check yout tablet and confirm if 3G / WCDMA on 1900 band enabled?
(you know mobileuncletool..etc)
The one I ordered is listed as 850/2100 however others are 850/1900/2100 (but cost is 60$ more)
I wonder if this is only enabled by changing the rom to the version you listed here.

Hello,
Firstly thank you it helped me well.
Here's my problem before I brick note 7.
She was 24 go 10.5 +10.5.
Since I recovered it does more than 3GB +10.5 go.
Otherwise know that you can make a backup in recovery by pressing.
1) power + volume + (android with a red triangle).
2) back bottom right.
3) select a backup volume using the + or – button.
4) confirm with the home button at the bottom center.
5) press right back down and wait twenty minutes it takes not to move the backup to SD.
That looks like userdata_20140712_134349 the ..
With one click root 1.5.3 apk framaroot SuperSu.
Avoid changing the bootanimation as it listen to all my problems is

Thanks for the ROM.
One strange thing is after flashing this ROM on my Star F5189, my RAM shows as 2GB. I’m sure that it was 1GB in the original ROM. My Antutu score also increased from 12300 to 15500.
