Install Instuctions:
1. Boot into recovery mode TWRP Recommended.
2. Now select wipe – Advance wipe, dalvik cache, system , cache , data.

Has anyone tried to verify if it kills background app aggressively to the point where whatsapp or LINE doesn't work?
nope. seems to be fine for me. i don't use line but whatsapp and wechat don't die unnecessarily.
What about battery drain?
Does it support xposed installer?
