Elephone M3 20160510 rooted

Author adMember Info

It is the stock "Elephone M3 – Update 05/10/2016" (Elephone_M3_A_20160510) from this page, which I apply manually the root "BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328". Need to be flashed with SP Flash Tool v5.1612.00.000 (you can download it from the stock ROM page, here).

If you flash the image (make a backup before, all your data will be lost), you end up with a Andoid up to date (Android 6.0), and rooted. Only the "system.img" file is modified. No custum recovery. Also, if you are already in Elephone_M3_A_20160510 version, you only have to flash the "system.img" file for the root (it avoids delete your data).

Edit 2016/06/11: I just come to upload the Elephone_M3_A_20160608, based on the official ROM, which I apply manually the "BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328". If you already are in my rooted Elephone_M3_A_20160510, the OTA update failed. If you want to upgrade your phone to be in A_20160608 (and if you want to stay rooted), just flash the "system.img" (and not the others) from this custom ROM.

how do you made the custom Rom with root? Change of the system.IMG with supersu and to build in the su?
Because your Rom is working fine with root, but today there is an update via ota available. And it seems to me, that we have to put the root back to the new update.
Maybe we can download the revised Rom from somewhere.

Actually, I have no custom recovery (like TWRP, CWM, etc.). I'm working on it, but I always have problem.

So, I uncode (with "simg2img") the "system.img" file, I mount the result under Linux, and I manually apply all the commands that the SuperSU.zip do when you apply it in a custom recovery. After, I recode (with "make_ext4fs") the result to have a good "system.img" file.

If the system is rooted, effectively, the OTA update doesn't work. It's why I post today a rooted version of the last "Elephone_M3_A_20160608" firmware. If you already are in Android 6.0, you just have to flash the "system.img" file to have the last rooted firmware.

      Enjoy !

Great improvement to my phone, I just installed the "system.img" version "Elephone_M3_A_20160608" and so far, it works like a charm.

    Many thanks to the developer.
