AICP Lollipop

Author adMember Info

After experimenting with the marshmallow builds, here is a rom based on trusty old lollipop. Lollipop is virtually bug-free on mtk devices and runs smooth and fast. The installation is the same as my marshmallow roms, but you just need to wipe everything from twrp 3.0 and install AICP10 then the gapps and reboot. My roms will only run correctly on my modified partition layout, so be sure to have followed all the steps i have given in the other roms threads. I have also uploaded an alternative kernel for those with touch wakeup issues,it actually runs a little faster than the included kernel, but you lose front camera functionality. You can flash this kernel with spflashtools or from twrp, if you select install images, and flash it to the boot partition. Have fun!

Hi, great work. I'm a newbie, so I'm a little worried to take hands on this things (SP flash and so on). By the way, what's the difference between this versione and the 6.0 one? I mean, why should I decide to flash a 5.1 if there's a 6.0 working? Or there are bugs in the other verision?

    Thank you!

6.0.1 was seeming fine at first, but it is still very immature and unstable. There are network drops, battery drain bugs, overheating bugs and generally it should not yet have been released so early in development. I turned back to lollipop, since other devices for which i have ported lollipop for are working fine after more than 2 months of intense usage, with speed and battery life matching or even exceeding that of stock rom. So to anwser your questions, yes there are bugs, but not glaring ones like camera not working, or videos not playing or something like that, but the 6.0.1 give an unfinished feeling you can only understand after using them for a while. Marshmallow will be really great for mtk devices, and i look forward to it, but the source developers need more time to make it really shine.

For those that have installed the rom, I appreciate your feedback. This is the only rom I will maintain till marshmallow becomes source-stable therefore tell me if there are bugs, so that I can try to fix them and make this the best lollipop rom for the w200s.

    Hello again pchatzop.

    LCD Driver IC : 1-nt35521_linglong_T499_84M_JDI_dsi_4_vdo_hd

Not fully compatible with above screen.  No digitizer after screen off.

Flashed alternative kernel, no front camera as to be expected and as you mentioned but still no digitizer after screen off.  Alternative kernel flashed with SPFlashTools and via TWRP image flash to Boot.  No screen eitherway.

Simcard will not connect to provider (3 UK).  Android will search for providers and will give a list of networks found.  Switching simcard from slot 1 over to slot 2 promotes a message from Android that reads something like "New simcard found, do you want to use for calls, internet etc", Didn't write down exact message sorry but still won't connect.

Ummm..  Need a bit of help here pchatzop?  After flashing the Lollipop my simcard does not work on any rom now.  I've tried rewriting my IMEI but any attempt at doing that just comes back cannot write IMEI.  All roms say no simcard.  Any ideas?

Phew!  Panic over.  Tried everything then used good old MTKdroidTools to restore my nvram.bin :D
