version V0.0.8 Tested by jed57x ( thx to you ) and it work.
Gapps include – No Rooted
Language support: Multilang
Install ROM:
- Unpack FlashTools, and Click on Flash_tool.exe
- Select a the MT6582_Android_scatter.txt in ROM
- Wait file to be added into Flash Tool
- choose Option->USB Model,click USB Model
–> Choose Option->DA DownLoad All->Speed->High Speed, click High Speed
- Turn off your phone, remove the battery.
- "Press F9 (hit Download button)" OR " if upgrade ROM Firmware->Upgrade "
- and connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
- The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
- And green circles display
- Finish !
- You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on.
※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM
now it's almost official, asked to cubot.net and this is the answer:
"The old version of the mobile phone are Android 4.2 system, The new version of the phone is 4.4 systems, android 4.2 cannot be upgraded, sorry."

That's not true – Cubot.net has this fireware V6_CQ_4139C_D1BOM_V0.0.8_20141105 dated 2014-11-08
Which seems to be this ROM and has the same date – it's just the flashing instructions that need to be followed correctly.
I am going to see if it is possible to root the phone and then install from SD card
I tried a variety of ways and couldn’t get it to run after flashing. The flash appeared successful….yet it won’t run.
I’m frustrated because after installing over a dozen apps to SD card, it still uses up the 1gb on the phone and i can’t install more. I was hoping for the 4.4 update to work which sets thus to use all phones main storage.
My hardware rev (about phone) K460_MB_P2_V01 on 4.2.2
What rev do you 4.4 users have?
V0.0.9 working great, no issues at all.
what hardware version is your S222 (in about phone)?

Hello. Sorry for my bad English! I flashed the KK 0.0.9 update to my S222 CUBOT and, like 0.0.8, flash light from camera starts on when I press a key from touchscreen and the back lights from back/home/options are off. It is possible to have an update that solve this? it is posseble to be a different compilation ( original 4039C and the new Rom 4139C) ?
I had to go back to 4.2.2 (CUBOT S222_4600F0I2_CQ7_4039C_V012)
greyeyes, the 4.2.2 version can not be upgraded to KK, different hardware, official answer from Cubot. You can have 6 gb for apps changing ebr with a full flash of 4.2.2. Check on 4.2.2 page

I've extracted the two ERB files and overwrote the 4.2.2 V12 rom ones, and reflashed the S222 and i now have 5.91gb of internal storage (where i only had 0.99gb) and now i have 7.94gb of phone storage.
That's give my S222 4.2 edition a new lease of life.
What hardware has changed on the 4.4.2 edition of the S222?

this rom works and fix the problem about poor partition for app in s222 (less then 1gb on 16gb aviable for app) now the device have more then 12gb of free memory for app and make this device works very well with very cheap cost. thanks
