I have ported the original stock firmware of Elephone C1.
I am not responsible for the bad translation of russian language.
Regarding the fingerprint, I advise everyone NOT to use the fingeprint in the low cost phones.

Very responsive, all my apps give background messages (the original HT17 Pro R3 R4 R5 roms all had issues with everything except WhatsApp).
Only downside is the none-working fingerprintreader, although i do not use it may i ask why you cannot advice using these on low cost phones?

You are right, my ported Elephone C1 works better than the stock firmware of HT17 Pro.
Sure, I will explain you why I have warned all of you to do not use the fingerprint on the low cost phone :
The low cost phones are assembled with hardware of poor quality.
Also the fingerprint hardware is of poor quality.
Then, the fingerprint is not trustworthy.
And if, unfortunately, the fingerprint should breaks, you will have problems.
In my view, the fingerprint is reliable in the phones by an estimated minimum market price of $200
In conclusion, there are many ways to lock your phone, the fingerprint is not the only one way.

Unfortunately the HT17 looks exactly like the HT17 Pro … but it is only an illusion.
Different CPU/GPU frequency, different ram and internal memory.
These are only minor differences.
There are major differences between files (inside system.img) of HT17 and HT17 Pro.

In my limited experience/knowledge, I can tell you that any phone needs its own porting strategy.
I’m using HT17PRO with R05 firmware…
I followed all steps in china-devices but i’ve got “ERROR 7″

But missing fingerprint, smartgesture and miravision are not working. Overall … the performance is GOOD…
