   Sorry to hear all these troubles are ur developer otions on?  unknoown sources on?  in the settings menu..  so many people have gotten root and TWR with this recovery.. i have flashed my phone since he first day it came out with the first original g4x rom and even since it became 32x bit  as of 10/20  i hev no problems..  you are doing something wrong ..  nobody else has had any complaits. try consulting another with any kind of phone that can show you the process first hands on sight to touch instead of just reading IKEA instructions if you know what i mean sorry i couldnt be of anyhelp let me know..  cheers

     Hey.

     developer options are on. I am not sure about unknown sources though. I will have to check that when I get the phone back. 

     Maybe Wolf can comment on this.

   I use Win10 too. Wolf do you have unknown sources activated? Although I am not sure if this has anything to do with flashing a recovery. I dont think so.

   Looks like something has been locked down with the later wireless updates or firmware from DOOGEE and prevents this from working. I've tried both the 32 and 64 versions of the TWRP ROM available here and after flashing the phone switching it back on with volume up and power button gets me to the bootloader menu (Recovery, Fastboot or Normal). I assume when I choose recovery I should get the TWRP recovery but that's not what happens, you see the DOOGEE logo for a few seconds, it then goes off and comes back on (almost as if it's rebooting) at which point it does a normal boot. From that point on if you switch the phone back off and try again the recovery option gives you the standard ALPS recovery instead of TWRP and trying to install SuperSU with that doesn't work (can't remember if the message is access denied or if it says it failed off the top of my head).

   I tried flashing some of the earlier ROMS available here in case they would allow TWRP to run but they either do the same thing or won't boot at all. 

   I've even tried using ADB to flash the recovery.img but the phone just goes into a boot loop at that point and I have to re-flash the stock ROM to get it to do anything after that.

   Anyone got any other suggestions?

     same problem here i have no way fount to root my device!and i cant downgrade because i dont have nvram.img backup vom factory stock rom can someone please upload it? i have found it on 4pa but i cant read russia signs for register capture

   does anyone know how to root this , new phone , followed the steps above , looks like twerp is installed but when i try to root it with supersu i get no command message after choosing Recovery mode . 

   any help is appreciated

   Looking like it's got everyone beaten. There are lots of instruction links for rooting the x5 max pro out there on the web and more and more are starting to have comments added that they don't work.

    1. Check the build of your ROM in About Phone. Then download the correct TWRP recovery.
    2. Download Speed Flash tool
    3. Enable Developer Options in device. Google it if you don’t know how to do it
    4. Enable OEM unlocking and USB debugging
    5. Turn off phone. Remove battery and SD-card
    6. Launch Sp Flash in PC as administrator.
    7. Make sure you are in Download Recovery mode.
    8. Load scatter file from TWRP folder. You should now see MTK6737M or just MT6737
    9. Hit the download button and immediately connect your phone with a USB cable.
    10. If it loads a red, yellow bar, and shows OK.
    11. Insert battery and use vol up + pwr button to boot your phone.
    12. Select Recovery (the 1st option)
    13. You should see the TWRP command now available.

    14. To root your phone, move the Super SU zip file in TWRP folder to your phone’s root memory. Boot into recovery and install zip of Super SU

      Hi,

      I have to say that your explaination is the best available !!!!!

      For a new user of this software is good to see all the steps including the one that you are souse to do that you don't see them anymore.
