DESCRIPTION


UPDATE 13-Dec-2014:

 

I've added other versions of the patch – to resize the primary partition to 2GB, 3GB, 4GB, 5GB or 6GB respectively. 

 

 

 

 

Patch to increase primary partition. It uses the space of "internal emmc card", which is shrinked to accordingly (there're 6GB of internal memory total, if you decide to increase the primary partition to 4GB, the rest of 2GB is dedicated to "internal emmc card").

 

PREREQUISITIES:

  1. Root
  2. Custom recovery (CWM, TWRP) – the recovery which comes preinstalled on the phone is not capable of flashing ZIPs!

 

HOW TO:

  1. Do a full backup of all your data (in recovery, recommended is also a backup using flashtool like MTKDroidTools)
  2. Copy the selected patch (.ZIP) to your SDCARD
  3. Reboot to recovery
  4. Apply the ZIP
  5. Do factory reset and reboot the recovery (Do not reboot to the system yet)
  6. Restore your backup (Using the recovery)
  7. Reboot the phone

Note: after the first boot the phone will prompt to format the internal memory, proceed with that.

NOTE: If you select to expand the primary partition to 6GB, there will be still below 100 MB dedicated to the so-called internal emmc card. It is unsafe (and untested too) to have the partition completely deleted, so I decided to shrink it to the tiniest safe size.

    only works 4Gb, 6gb and 5gb don't work

      Are you getting any error when trying to install it? Or, what's going wrong? I was able to flash 6GB patch as well as 5GB patch successfully (I'm personally using 6GB and I actually tested all of them). Without any further or more detalied explanation I wouldn't be able to help.

      And, just to be 100% sure – I flashed the 5GB patch to the phone, here is the result: 

      It works OK. 

       

      I have also flashed the 6GB back (as I use that one normally) – the result:

      It also works nicely..

      Sorry, I'm not sure if I'm getting your question correctly. The patch uses free space dedicated to the "internal sd-card" – the patch basically changes the partition alignment of the internal memory (by using modified EBR files). I also answered your PrivateMessage.

    Hello, I think my elephone's internal memory is broken after trying to install…

    Now my phone doesn't even start! And in recovery says: E:format_Volume: make_extf4fsfailed on dev/block/mmcblk1p2 

    What can I do? Thanks.
