Gapps include – Multilang
Install ROM :
- Unpack FlashTools, and Click on Flash_tool.exe
- Select a the MT6592_Android_scatter_emmc.txt in ROM
- Wait file to be added into Flash Tool
- choose Option->USB Model,click USB Model
–> Choose Option->DA DownLoad All->Speed->High Speed, click High Speed
- Turn off your phone, remove the battery.
- "Press F9 (hit Download button)" OR " if upgrade ROM Firmware->Upgrade "
- and connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
- The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
- And green circles display
- Finish !
- You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on.
※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM
my k18 did not start and detected by windows as unknown device
i dont know how to remove the battary

You dont have to replace/disconnect the battery, when windows recognizes the Phone as unknown in the device manager right click and install driver, use MTK Vcom Preloader driver.

After installing the driver, flash firmware 1.0.9 with SP Flashtool but uncheck " Preloader" when you download the files to your K18!!!

I am not sure its a hardware problem.
If you use GPS TEST, it doesnt loose the signal.
Only when using navigation aplications, like waze.
Its so damn unstable and satellite signals come in and go when you move, when you put it in one spot its kinda stable but thats not how it should work. Within my flat I get a proper fix with a cheap 89$ Quejaz Q88 where the Newmand don't even see one single satellite. Its the exact same behavior like the Iocean I had before, it only could be fixed with a hardware mod.
For my part I am 100 percent sure that this problem cannot be fixed with a software mod. ( thats just my opinion)
What do you guys think of the battery life on this phone? Doesn't seem very good to me, using V1.0.6 software. Does newer software help with battery life at all?

Battery life is ok with 1.0.9 around 20 hours without a problem and common use.

Downloaded and installed Firmware 1.0.10
Comes with working google market: confirmed
Faster focus time on camera: confirmed
Multi language OS : confirmed
Better or working GPS?!: 35 Minutes for first fix in Mobile uncle tools, very unstable and jumpy reception, without changing place, loosing all satellites from on to the other moment, starting to search again, taking another 3 Minutes, then the signal is back before it starts over with loosing connection and redo the process over and over again, Most instable unusable and crappy GPS I have ever seen on a smarthphone, NEWMAN WTF WHERE YOU THINKING?!!
I am so damn dissapointed, I always have to carry my second cheap phone with me when it comes to navigation this is so damn unpractical and stupid I cant hold back my anger about it.
System response and stuff si nice and snappy but its all ruined by the most terrible gps I have ever experienced
My Nr 1 China Phone Brand Newman killed my loyalty with the K18, thats it, no more newman for me

For some reason with firmware 1.0.10 you cant install google+ ( element not found) everything else works.
You also CANNOT install Google+ manually after you downloaded it. Installaion ends with " app was not installed"
Firmware 1.0.10 comes with a different´( updated?) OTA function, its all in chinese no idea if it works.
Lots of chinese Apps again, but easy to delete ( even without root)
Battery time seems to be ok after a few hours.( not much difference to 1.0.9)
Goint back to Firmware 1.0.9.
Firmware 1.0.10 seems to have to many issues and no advantage in GPS and generell performace.
Not worth upgrading to 1.0.10 wait for a better release.
And Newman……..HOW ABOUT A STATEMENT OR HELP OR SOLVING THE PROBLEM WITH GPS??!!!
Does anyone have this problem; when I make a call the light sensor thinks I have the phone to my head even when I don’t, so the screen goes black and I can’t use the phone until I put it into a bright light.

I have the same problem. The first time I was pretty scared. It's not a problem with the firmware? My phone has version 1.0.7.
GPS is impossible, it also warms a lot when using Waze.
I have returned it, and ordered Zopo zp980+,
Hopefully it will be better.
Does anyone have links to detailed instruction for rooting v.09? I tried Framaroot and doesn't work and tried the adb tool previously posted in these messages by lupusworax but can't figure out how to do it.
I have flashed the Recovery and boot images, but after running the RUNME.BAT and selecting options 1, it keeps saying "The system could not find the specified path" all the time. Am I supposed to place it in a certain part of my hdd?
