Phoenix ROM 3 (FIXED)

Author adMember Info

I was about to retire from ROM porting but the user support for the Phoenix ROM is still large so I guess I can't stop yet. So now, I bring you Phoenix ROM 3.

This is an Android 5.1.1 ROM port for the Lenovo K3 Note. Phoenix ROM will always be as close to AOSP and as close to the base ROM as possible. You will not find any additional tweaks for this ROM because the ROM is stable and fast as it is. You may still

Base ROM is the Jiayu S3 5.1.1 (RC4) ROM developed by superdragonpt and DerTeufel1980 of the XDA Forums and Jiayu.de forums.

Major changes on Phoenix ROM 3 (RC4) since Phoenix ROM Update 2 (RC2):
- Google security fixes / patch level 2016-01-01
- Browser address bar fixed
- New Root Implementation. No more need for SuperSU. You may change the Root options in Settings->Developer Options->Root Access. To enable Developer Options, Go to Settings->About Phone and tap Build Number a couple of times until developer options appear.
- Other improvements and fixes

Some Issues some users may want to know:
- FM Radio still force closes upon exit, and when choosing channel list.
- Still no double-tap to wake support. If you want this feature, install Xposed Framework and use a module for double-tap to wake.
- Still no LED Notification support. I asked around how to get it to work but there are no replies. There are workarounds out there like Light Flow App and others.

Important Note to Porters:
- If you want to make Phoenix ROM 3 as your base rom, you are free to do so just don't forget to give credits.

    Couple of quick questions:

    1. Wi-Fi and Cellular working properly? No roaming or Wi-Fi dropouts like on Androium 2/6?

    2. Is settings/notifications working on the lock screen?

    3. I assume basic Google Apps is included?

Thanks for your hard work. I've been really wanting a stable, fully functional AOSP ROM for this phone for a long time.

      1. Yes, it seems to work properly.

      2. Notifications work in the lock screen, the quick settings don't.

      3. Very basic Google support is there. Play Store is ready to use. For the other Google Apps, you may use the Play Store to grab em.

What wifi drop on Androium 6 man?? I still use this rom and I don’t found any issue with the wifi.

Androium 2.x suffers from Wi-Fi issues when there are multiple SSIDs with the same name.

Androium 6.x suffers from roaming symbol which can interfere with mobile signal.

I'm playing with it now and all seems to be working well (except for settings on lock screen – I think I'll just have to put up with that one). Good stuff, I'll probably make this my daily driver. I am noticing a lot of elements from Cyanogenmod which is interesting and welcome.

Congrats for the new update friend! Do not retire please! We expect a Phoenix rom based on Android 6 when it comes out, it will happen very soon. :)

    Dear PorkchopMiyer,

I am using your phoneix v2 rom, it is really cool. I used lots of custom rom but your rom is sooo nice ever.

I have only one issue why the rom is taking too much battery by Phone Idle… i have also ask this question before but answer is yet to receive.

Pls let me know why phone idle is eating too much battery……pls pls pls let me know,,, mean while i am downloading v3 rom ..

I'm seeing this issue as well. Haven't started using it as a daily driver quite yet though, maybe it's because I don't have a SIM in the device.

@stephendt: Fair enough, to be clear the roaming symbol is a problem related to the modem that Lenovo released after 1544, it’s not a specific Androium problem.

Please also clear…shoud i update it on my v2 or i need to clear system then update to v3

Automatic Brightness control doesn't work for me.  Anyone else unable to adjust brightness when it's set to automatic?
