DESCRIPTION
Happy New Year! Thank you to everyone who supported Phoenix ROM in 2015. Now in 2016, I bring you Update 2. I hope you like it, even though there are a lot of good ROMS out there too for the K3 Note.
This is an Android 5.1.1 ROM port for the Lenovo K3 Note. Phoenix ROM will always be as close to AOSP and as close to the base ROM as possible. You will not find any additional tweaks for this ROM because the ROM is stable and fast as it is.
Base ROM is the Jiayu S3 5.1.1 (RC2) ROM developed by superdragonpt and DerTeufel1980 of the XDA Forums and Jiayu.de forums.
Major changes on Phoenix ROM Update 2 (RC2) since Phoenix ROM Update 1 (RC1):
- Google entered the security fixes from November (Stagefright patches are updated)
- Better support for layers themes (application from the Play Store required)
- New Launcher with icon pack support (new icon packages are in Play Store, but after "icon pack" search)
- Backup & Restore application added
- "Frameworks" updated to Android 5.1.1 release 26
- Performance optimizations (only draw pictures / backgrounds, if there is a change, …)
- ZRAM kernel reactivated (which provides compressed memory available) *** additional hidden RAM
- "Documents" file has managerial skills received (copy, cut, paste)
- Some applications adapted to the material design
- optimized "scroll"
- Performance optimization of the "last used applications" overview
- Speed Dial for Phone application added (Sorry, no translations entered)
- More and faster exchange of (automatic) brightness
- And more
- Some UI Changes specifically Settings Icons and layout
Some Issues some users may want to know:
- FM Radio still force closes upon exit, and when choosing channel list.
- Still no double-tap to wake support. If you want this feature, install Xposed Framework and use a module for double-tap to wake.
- Still no LED Notification support. I asked around how to get it to work but there are no replies. There are workarounds out there like Light Flow App and others.
Important Note to Porters:
- Thank you to the creators of Androium 6 and HTC Sense V2 for acknowledging Phoenix ROM as your base ROM.
- If you want to make Phoenix ROM Update 2 as your base rom, you are free to do so just don't forget to give credits.

@IndianTigers Ahh yes, in fact you didn’t said that Phoenix is better rom than CM12.1. But can you really tell that? There are still many bugs in CM, the speed is also not optimal as it’s using the kernel from MIUI. I thought that you’re thinking the same.
How should we install this ROM?
With CWM or TWRP???
CWM or TWRP would be enough as long as it is a custom recovery.

Great ROM and love the improvements, been using Phoenix for a while its more stable than most roms
Installed this ROM. It runs smoothly. The only problem with me is it shows my 4G data connection as 3G. Other ROMs can show 4G. Any way to fix this?

Same here only 3g i think this is actual 3g rather then wrong icon. There might be issue with prefered netwoks because i try ading 4g and save but it rolls back to 2g or 3g.
Update: solved ->
Go to settings => more => cellular networks => prefered networks. Change all your network prowider settings to 2g/3g/4g save all then turn on airplane mode on and of. after this i have 4g but when i go back to prefered networks still showing 2g/3g bizare… Something not right there.

Please don't fight over which ROM is better. I know CM 12.1 really has many features that Phoenix doesn't have. Some will always say CM 12.1 is better, some will say Phoenix is better. Some are even fans of MIUI and Vibe. It all goes down to personal preference.
All I wanted was to share a simple rom which has good performance not only for daily use but for gaming too. Don't worry, I am not offended if someone says this rom is better than Phoenix. I have faith in the developers of the base rom of the Phoenix (superdragonpt and derteufel1980) that's why I adapted their rom. They developed the rom from scratch and continue on improving it. RC3 is just around the corner and I am looking forward to working on that too.
About the issues, I take note of them and try to find solutions in my spare time. I am sorry for any bugs.
Sir, very nice rom. I know u will solve all the bugs in next update as not u know LED works with 3.10.xx kernel. that 3g/4g issue.
My request is to release recovery flashable patches n updates so that we can overwrite on existing Phoenix.
