Hi,
I've just spent 1 night figuring out how to ROOT this official S119 ROM, and I have also managed to install google apps on it! ( gmail, google play…etc )
Phone seems to work flawless, with two SIM cards installed, 3G is running, wifi works fine..etc. No issues found yet!
If somebody is interested, here is a very basic manual how to do the whole process:
install the phone drivers ( I have official Windows 8.1 PRO, included drivers in the ROM are working )
Do the ROM flash with SP flash tool, that is included in the downloaded ROM, follow the instructions in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?.....v=7wBb1VIwng4
( it's russian, but do not care, I do not speak russian myself… it's easy to follow, but follow it in detail! )
HOW TO ROOT:
use MTK droid tools to do it! Instructions, and download at this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.co.....d.php?t=2379412
Basically, switch on the phone, plug it in, then 2nd page, ROOT button on the bottom, then another button to install superuser ( superSU ) (
If you have just flashed the ROM, you do not need to do phone backup if asked while rooting, it's at least 4-5 hours, and has no point!
But if you want to be safe, and you try to root a "used" system, do it… if you have the time.
Now you have supersu, root explorer, and mobileuncle tools installed on the phone. reboot and done.
Google apps install through CWM recovery ( could not find any other way, that worked ):
I could not install CWM recovery image, from SP flash tool, it's telling OK, but does not work at all! Use mobileuncle software ( installed while rooting ) in the phone to have access to a permanent CWM recovery!
Use the last part of the manual for MTK droid tools in the previous link to do it right!
Download A830 CWM recovery file. I used a chinese CWM with the help of a translated manual, links:
http://tabletrepublic.com/foru.....ed%5D-2037.html
http://dl.dbank.com/c0mwp5a50u.....#
Download google apps package from this link. ( I used the newest AOSP version )
http://forum.xda-developers.co.....d.php?t=1997547
Copy CWM recovery "recovery.img" file to the sd card root directory, along with the google apps package ".zip" file.
Iinsert SD card into the phone, boot up, then copy "recovery.img" with regular file explorer to the phone's internal sd root directory ( important, because mobuleuncle searches that drive for the file, and not the external SD! ) Leave the SD card in the phone, because you will need it to have access to the google apps package later!
Start mobileuncle on the phone, flash the CWM recovery image from menu, then reboot from menu, and you have CWM ready on your screen. ( do not reboot, switch off..etc!!! )
Now do the google apps package install from external SD inside CWM recovery.
When it's done, restart the phone from the CWM recovery menu.
Phone will boot up a bit slowly, be patient. Welcome to the google eco system!
If you wish, do the regular cleanup, from all the extra chinese software ( you have root, it's easy ).
Done.
This is a multilanguge?
