TCL S720 –aosp ROM Android 4.2.2
Gapps included – No Rooted

everything works except compass
spflashtools flashable
doesn't read sd card (you have to use root browser and replace system/etc/vold.fstab, system/etc/vold.fstab.nand , /system/bin/sdcard and /system/bin/vold with original rom's change permissions and reboot in order to work).
OR flash through twpr or cwm recovery the added zip.
BUG: YOU CAN'T BOOT TO RECOVERY WITH VOL+ AND POWER BUTTON. you have to root-install "reboot recovery" apk in order to boot in recovery mode.What i did was : flashed aosp rom took a backup with twpr (be careful to backup to sd card), then flashed this rom: https://www.needrom.com/download/tcl-s720-2/ (almost same rom but gps doesn't work) installed twpr with mobileuncletools and then restored my backup.

This is clearly your device's issue. But you can always try Lenovo snapit.

I have tried over 20 roms and everyone works fine. I have red in 4pda that several people have the same camera problem and some imei loss problems as well.That makes me think that there are different versions of the device. Did you bought them all from the same shop and which shop was that.

My phone doesn't have written all these words you say, just "TCL s720 WCDMA " and some Chinese words.
Does your device's white compared to another phone or tablet looks a bit yellow?

Reflash the ROM and try again with root browser.
