( Take care on Windows 8.1/10 drivers, you need to disable driver signature before install:)

1- With flashtool load MT6753_Android_Scatter.txt
2- Select download and connect smartphone to pc (smartphone must be powered off)… in few seconds will start the process and the new TWRP will be flashed
to enter recovery, you need to boot in android, activate developers option menu, activate debug usb and use ADB commands to reboot in recovery mode: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853159

It worked great for me on my S3 build number: Elephone_S3_V01_20160712
The only remark is that i had to get a newer version of the ADB Shell. The ADB drivers worked fine on my win10 computer but the shell version did not recoginze the device. This one did the job for me:

Is there any way to enter the recovery mode with the hardware keys instead of the ADB Shell ?

Same here, and tried to flash an old version of the rom to then install/move to another ROM, but it soft bricked. Recovered with the latest, but of course it made the recovery unusable
