UNrooted, original factory recovery.
Can easily flash through SP Flash Tool.

Unfortunately, I have neither TWRP nor CWM recovery for this phone. Currently, it is quite hard to root it, as ALL rooting techniques and tools fail on this device, tough one! Even with MTK Droid Tools and scatter file, using boot.img & recovery.img from factory ROM, we cannot manage to successfully create CWM recovery automatically… Quite a pain in the ass!
I hope someone soon solves this annoying problem.
iRoot …root this phone….
Already tried iRoot (formerly vRoot), KingRoot, KingoRoot, SRS Root, TowelRoot, Impactor, and many, many more, without success.
I have rooted it with iRoot
i just did mine with vroot VRoot_1.8.2.13135_
I rooted with iRoot, denied all the cr..p it proposed me to download, then I used SuperSu and used "Switch superuser app" tool to make it the main app, Worked perfectly fine for me

ps. @nicoking may i ask where you found this rom…did you get it directly from ulephone because as you can see in the thread above there are still some issues with sp flash tools and mtk droid tools because of the 64bit SoC not being supported fully yet

I am in direct contact with them, that's right. I tried to root with iRoot 1.7.4 without success. Maybe there is a new version of this tool, but I was unaware of it; will check for it.
Concerning the second link, I have already been working with bigrammy on this problem for the past days, and I hope we can provide a custom recovery for this phone soon.

I have just Updater last versione rom 29th January.
Confirm root success with Iroot 1.8.1.
I noted red cast in the center of photos during/after shots, i don't remember if it was the same before.

no, if you flash the new rom 29th January, you loose all data.

iRoot v1.7.9.2 rooted my ulefone be pro nicely. it has some chinese checkboxes now i'm not cerain what to do at times… but now it is rooted!
