Source from lenovo club, based on 6.0
Also given root zip for 6.0 and 5.1 Version.

Also had root zips for 5.1 and 6.0 Versions just modified them too with TWRP 2.8.7.4
How to root:
1. Open Root zip on computer, click on K3 Note root.exe file
2. Connect your Phone by switching on USB Debugging mode let drivers install and click on first shown adb in software so that your device can connect if connects automatically no problem.
3. Now click on root dont panic your phone will switch off and install it now click on ok and after completing take out your device and check it.

I’m myself waiting for the 1610 5.1 to come out. Still there are issues on MM. You really can’t wait guys..lol
yep…5.1 have gotten so well and even the battery is great with 1604 ST…MM has a long way to go, i'll wait for an official DEV version…

@pvkiniyan: The best decision mate! You're just like me. The VibeUI based on 5.1 become super fluid, it's pleasure to use it.
@iamkadar: For battery CM 12.1 Beta 3 is the best. Also Androium 6. Androium 6 is more stable than CM and I'm sure you'll be happy with it!
MIUI7 is also providing a good battery backup, but the OS is using TOO MUCH RAM! Around 300mb more than Vibe, CM and the others. To be honest I found that the worst battery life is on VibeUI roms, a little but worse than the other Android distributions.
So flash CM Beta 3, beware that only sim1 works with 4G data and if you like it keep it. If you found it buggy ( not any noticeable bugs to be honest) flash Androium 6. If you miss the double tap to wake then VibeUI is your only choice.
