ROM LENOVO A660 – ROM Android 4.0.4 A660_ROW_S106_cybermaus_ICS_v3.1
Instructions:
Summery of mods I made to it remain the same as before, to repeat:
- Rooted the phone with Chainfire SuperSu
- Set to boot in US-english, changed name of ROM
- Added MoreLocale for extra languages in 3rd party apps
- Removed Chinese apps, incl Chinese keyboard, removed SmsReg.apk
- Updated Google GAPPS, Play Store, Maps, etc
- Added MobileUncle toolbox, SManager (root explorer).
- Added fix for location services
- Added Skype, Whatsapp, Titanium backup (free version) and some others, as auto-install upon userdata wipe / factory clean
- Prepared busybox (you need to run script /system/xbin/installbusybox as root if you want it)
- Replaced bootup animation with silent Lenovo butterfly
- Removed FaceBook and Google+. They were huge, /system was full, and they are autostart, so always consume a little resources. You can install them from play store if you need them. Removed Chrome too.
- Fixed WiFi to use all 14 channels rather than 11 US ones (may be undone when selecting new Locale)
- Fixed so the Debug-USB notification is no longer shown
Language support: EN/IN/RU/VI/CN
Instructions:
- Put zip on SD card
- Reboot into recovery
- Apply the ZIP.
ROOT:

Does phone encryption work with this ROM for A660? I cannot encrypt my phone with my current version. Or is the problem not a ROM problem? I heard there must be 16kb unused space at the end of the partition. How can i solve it?

Hi to all please could someone point me in the right direction for rooting this phone (a660) and flashing this rom. I am fimiliar with flashing custom roms via adb & cwm etc (also i`m a programmer) as this is my relatives phone need to make sure i dont brick it lol. have download rom flash etc from the links above
in sp flash only boot img is checked and loaded preloader & DSP_BL are highlighted red (in error) have loaded MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt etc but reluctent to proceed as not sure will just root the phone
need a tutorial on rooting this phone also installing recovery (cwm) etc

Cant Root !!!!
Hi I have bulid number A660_S023_120927 I cant install the usb drivers (win 7 x64 ultimate) Drivers im using MT65xx_USB_Driver.zip, I have a nexus 4, drivers set up correctly for this phone, adb setup correctly have no trouble accessing the nexus 4 & zte skate. I have read that above a certain build for the A660 cannot be rooted. this is my problem cannot root via any method i have tried. could anyone enlighten me in any way
is it possible to downgrade to an older offical rom that can be rooted if the above is the case also any links to older official roms and more info about rooting the A660 with the above build driver installation etc

Hi thank you for replying and the posts. had rooted the phone, but had the red triangle with an exclamation point with a laying down android icon
tried a restore wipe now in a wiping loop Android icon with spinning mid section any ideas ?
I have motorola xoom, zte skate, nexus 4(not touched this yet), zte blade, samsung spica had no problems with any of these devices and can do a full system restore via adb too
