I can not get into the engineering menu. Can not recover IMEI.
If you have a backup of other rom, restore all the partitions except (boot, system, cache, data).

This procedure corrected IMEI of my Elephone P8000
1. root phone
2. install android terminal and type: SU (press enter and grant root permissions)
3 TURN AIRPLAINE MODE ON
4. Write this: echo 'AT+EGMR=1,10,"IMEI2"' >/dev/radio/pttcymd1 AND PRESS ENTER
5. Write this: echo 'AT+EGMR=1,7,"IMEI1"' >/dev/radio/pttcymd1 AND PRESS ENTER
6. TURN AIRPLAINE MODE OFF, WAIT 10 SEC, TURN ON.
Reboot

You link doesn't work for cm roms.Because engineering mode isn't fully or partly present in the rom. But thanks for trying to help him.

No problems with internal memory
I had the same problem, just install the official rom again, TWRP and flash the custom rom, Problem solved for me

What recovery do you use?
If the recovery is the one provided with AOSP 7.1.1 there should be no problems.
