DESCRIPTION
Best ROM for thise phone. Lollipop and Marshmallow will have lot of bugs. This is the best you can have. This phone has bad roms and support, you can't have anything better than this rom.
Never buy Doogee smartphones again they lie! Battery is only 2200mAh, remove the sticker from battery and find out how much do you have! They did it with the newest smartphone too and I bet they lie about capacity on all of the smartphones!
Also this rom has OTA update! Guys from Blackview are better than the original producer! If you do some tweaks in system partition, you have to flash clean rom and then install OTA, you need original recovery.
OTA UPDATES:
-
20150714 – System optimizations and bug fixes
-
20150906 – System optimizations and bug fixes
I recommend to flash clean rom then download and install this OTA update. Install one by one as described in updates. You will need original recovery! Can not be install if you edit or add files in system partition!
Anybody successed with making this rom as zip flashable file?
I Don't have working Meta-INF file
Update is possible over the OTA only. I don't have the flashable file. You need original recovery.
Rom for DG550 by Doogee edited by Blackview for their DM550 which is basically DG550 rebranded.
I'm using it about week and it's working good. A lot better than original 4.4.2 rom by Doogee.

Installation
Donwload newest SP flash tool and flash this to you phone like original Kitkat. You can also use TWRP 2.8.1 But I've got errer when I flash this recovery, but it was flash anyway. So I recommed flash whole rom in SP flash tool than flash again only TWRP 2.8.1 if it end with error never mind it should be flashed, I try to flash it again and it was end with error again but when I booted to recovery it is working without errors. In recovery flash Super SU 2.46 for root, working great! Then install KingoUser from Google play, there is a half rooted issue with SuperSU
Edit use the newest TWRP working for you. OTA working only with original recovery!!
If you don't you custom recovery, for root use Kingo Root.
Now you can flash TWRP in MobileUncle (2.8.1 doesn't work for me, only in SP flash tools with error but worked) you can flash TWRP 2.7.1 or other recovery.
You can follow this video. Don't forget install drivers if you don't have it!

Pros
- No more battery drain!
- Deep sleep working great
- Should included new camera driver – Let me know if it is true.
- Multilanguage
- Based on latest Doogee rom
- 3GB for APPs
Cons
- No gps.conf – Reset GPS in MobileUncle and download Faster GPS and make gps.conf file just right for you.
I will update it with GPS.conf file and other stuff, but I'm going on holiday for a week so it will be in the end of the June.
Tweaks
Use L speed from Google Play and download Viper4Android for better sound!

Thank you, brb, for your help.
But it is not the file what is missing, I do have the modified boot.img file. But then when using Flashtools, using original Blackview ROM and then only pointing BOOTIMAGE to this modified file, then I get the above error during download/flash. What I need is a help (step by step) how to use this file correctly and flash it without error.
Best regards and thank you!
Arno
I flashed the boot.IMG without errors using the option format all from flashtool If I remember correctly, but its dangerous because it deletes the nvram (giving an annoying WiFi error) and both the imei of the SIMs. If you want to give it a try you must be responsible for fixing it yourself (I used mobile uncle but it’s not sure it’ll work). What I can advice you if you are not into this kind of modding, just install the October 2014 rom from doogee and the camera will work fine for sure
@danypava: Doogee's October/2014 ROM is not working fine because of force closes in Google Maps and others. This is why Doogee had a new ROM.
OK what I did:
1. Flash complete Blackview ROM as posted here.
2. Only Flash modified Boot.img (all others are unchecked) via "download"
Then I get S_FT_DOWNLOAD_FAIL (4008) error in Flashtools. But when flashing in trace-mode, I afterwards looked into logfile and it looks like download of Boot.img seems to be o.k. even if above error is displayed.
Then I started my phone and until now everything seems to work, even my old camera and autofocus is working! I will test some time and will see if there are some other problems…
Thank you and best regards
Arno
With modified boot.img OTA from Blackview will not work. So I decided to flash original boot.img, then updated via OTA to the latest version, and then flashed modified boot.img again. Old camera and autofocus are ok, but I assume that using modified boot.img (which is derived from February version and modified by danypava) does not contain all fixes from Blackview's July version.
So it would be very helpful to,learn how to integrate old camera drivers into a new version.
@danypava: is there any way to create such a "new" boot.img or (my device is rooted) integrate old camera driver into Blackview's latest version in any other method (copying some files into special folders, …)? If youncould describe such a method, anyone (me ?) could be able to use actual ROMs with old camera drivers.
I would be glad if you could descibe such a method!

Hi guys, so are you satisfied with this rom? I'm pretty good. This is the best what my DG550 can get, because of the f*ckin no support from Doogee.
BTW Did you get the OTA update? I install it, but I have to flash this rom again and then manage to update, cause this update check the system folder and I was using some tweaks. It's funny that DG engineers can't get to work OTA updates and Blackview did
I'm just starting love the Blackview guys
I have old one too and I'm using the newest bootimage, autofocus is not the best but only from close and it looks like I've flashed it again and it gets better sort of.
Also I remove the sticker from battery and guess how much capacity it has…
only 2200mah… hate those bastards! Even my old Honor2 has 2200mah and only for 4.5"
Explain how to properly install the update. understood nothing
You need original recovery then you can install update. If you made some system changes even in build.prop you need to revert it back. Fastest way is install clean rom and then connect to internet download and install update. Then you apply or tweaks, custom recovery etc. Enjoy new update.
Thx !
thank
Got a proper busy box install using that sterricson installer. But I rooted with Kingroot. Which gave a 100percent root. Not sure if this is what you're after.
Very good ROM thanks
guy i flash this rom via fp flashtool and later root my phone via kingroot. now there is an wireless update popping. should i unroot first before updating the new wireless update?
You can try if it can update, but I recommended to flash new install and update. There is also new update from August
