Install ROM :
- Unpack FlashTools, and Click on Flash_tool.exe
- Select a the MT6582_Android_scatter.txt in ROM
- Wait file to be added into Flash Tool
- choose Option->USB Model,click USB Model
–> Choose Option->DA DownLoad All->Speed->High Speed, click High Speed
- Turn off your phone, remove the battery and replace it after some seconds (and don't turn on the phone).
- "Press F9 (hit Download button)" OR " if upgrade ROM Firmware->Upgrade "
- and connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
- The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
- And green circles display
- Finish !
- You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on.

Where did you get the official ROM from? Digital 2 Suppoer Centre denied that they release an official ROM for KitKat version 4.4.2.
Their reply as followed:
Unfortuantely Digital 2 has not released any firmare updates for our smartphone line. Currently model D554P only runs 4.2 Jelly Bean. We have not officially released any new firmware upgrades and we strongly advise not to download, flash/root your smartphone in any way as it may not be compatabile and will void your 1 year limited warranty.

Hi,
Thank you a lot for those updates to Android 4.4.2. It worked fine on this model as the core of it is
MT6582 (Quad-core 3G platform).
It improved a lot the functionalities (4G connection) and the security.
For beginners you will need to download first the USB drivers for this phone by following this link:
MTK6582 /MTK6592 /MTK6589 / MTK6577 or any other MTK65XX
