Step 1: Download the custom ROM copied to an external SD card root directory
Step 2: the shutdown state. While holding down:
– Power button + volume button up, to enter the recovery mode.
– Wipe Data / Factory Reset -> delete all user data
– Wipe Cache Partition -> Wipe cache
– Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache
Step 3: Return to recovery main interface Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard -> Select your ROM
Step 4: Brush complete, restart the phone Patience required – first boot takes a while
※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM
i can't rewrite the IMEI with this rom !!!
Seems to run fine on my x8, only bug so far seems to be the browser slipping into Chinese language from English.
you did not have problems with the IMEI ?
Also, cannot get gps to speak male British English, only crappy female American English.
this is beta or not ?

I have tried every thing and i cant fix the IMEI problem on this rom !!!
Why the hell does the rom update clears the IMEI ??!!

for every body having the same problem as me just disable the AUTO DATE and the TIME ADJUSTMENT and every thing starts to work !!!
Great update! GPS works, also navigation in local language (dutch) ,camera is good for a phone, no issues with IMEI loss.
Did have to download gapps like gmail and maps. Also no contacts sync but that was solved with the apk provided in this thread (many thanks for that ahronbr!).
Trebuchet is ugly but installed apex as usual. Gesture sensing doesn’t work everywhere, only gallery and camera indeed but I don’t use it anyway.
Antutu initially gave low score of below 20k but second test it was back at old level of around 26k (no improvement over jellybean!)
Rooting also easy by activating superuser however titanium didn’t work initially but after reinstall and reboot it was up and running.
All in all I’m quite happy with this KitKat rom so far.
Does anybody have gravitybox working properly on this rom? Lot of adjustments are not taking effect after reboot. For example circle battery with percentage is showing zero in red next to the standard battery icon. 3G is still showing in status bar. Colors won’t adjust. No quicktiles. Only have autobahn power options…

No scatter file, you have to flash this through recovery. For flashtool file you’ll need to download from here:

Search for the 0518 rom for iocean X8 on this site, you’ll find the link to the recovery module.
Install with Mobile Uncle tools. Then reboot into recovery and install this Kitkat rom.
