   My screen turns off sometimes, i can use it (i marked places where the buttons to turn off the phone are and i succesfully turned off my phone with the screen black), but it is all black, even without background light. I installed jack44′s recovery, because i used cappa72′s for a820, we’ll see if that helps.

   Ps. Chinese apps shouldve been cleared from this ROM and it would be great.

   Hi Guys, I am new here, a new owner of a a830 (which I really like) and new to advanced Android  setups.

   Bought it from Meri Mobiles and paid extra root and installation of Google Play. I have google play and some other extras but I don't know hot to check if the phone is rooted. I can confirm that when I restart it and press UP+DOWN it enters in 'Android System Recovery <3e>' with various option.

   I don't want to flash other Rom's yet, but I am having problems like GPS not locking at all, People Data is not syncing (remains stuck) with Google Account, I have some Chinese on Calls and whenever I reboot I get some melodies with chinese in it (which is not fun at all).

   The current build number is A830_s115_130426.

   1.So my first questions would be where and how could I get the GPS working and fix Contact syncing?

   2. How can I get a full backup before trying to root or do something else that might crash the current ROM?

   I had the impression that, in order to have the GPS fix I needed to root the phone, but it already might be.

   Hallo taz002dev, you can download root checker from playstore.

   If you have root access you can fix your gps problem with Mobileuncle Tools (playstore)

   Thanks, I kind of sorted out more things.

   When I restart the phone and press the UP volume key I enter a menu which is in chinese..that sucks. By mystake I chose something having MMC word in it (MultiMedia Card I guess) and the phone was reset and now Root Checker shows it's routed. This is probably another custom CWM installed by merimobiles.

   I have sorted out GPS with QuickFix and another GPS app, but  Unfortunatelly now all warnings, or system messages are in Chinesse so whenever a app is installed I have to chose blindly … and hope it is right.

   1. I don't know how to get rid of this chinese. Can you help me on that please?

   2. Another thing is, can I install a new CWM and overwrite the Chinese one?

   3.How can I do a full backup of the whole system (not apps + accounts with Titanium Backup) in caswes something goes wrong. Whole Andoid I mean? Is copying all I have on the phone via USB a decent way to do it?

   Hi guys from Greece. Ive got this wonderful mobile and erase some chinese applications. Now it can t read any sim [put it on child mode and cant return in regular mode]. will this rom help me?is there anything else ican try?

   Hallo taz002dev, have you a cwm or twrp recovery on your phone ?  Press (phone is off) power and vol + and –  at the same time to boot into recovery mode. If you have a custom-recovery you can backup your system and restore it.

   Very good and functionall ROM. My phone came with jack44's v1, I updated to this version, everything OK. No 3G sign, but it doesn't bother me at all. Use Titanium Backup to get rid of the chinese apps and everything should be just fine. Make sure you don't unistall Samsung Apps and the "R" (root) app.

   You can can uninstall "R" app with Tianium Backup then install SuperSu.zip file through CWM. It will retain the root access and have English language root app.

    Working well! Had some issues duing set-up,but solved it. Only problem i taht after deleting "R"-app I have no Root access. Solution in post over did not sole it. Anyone who got a clue?
