How to install the ROM
You have to use my Unoffical TWRP 3.3.1-0 Recovery to flash your device later. The file in the attachment is zipped and valid for the Recovery (don't extract!)
Please backup NVRAM and IMEI with TWRP BEFORE flash! If you lose your MAC / IMEI after flash, you can restore it in 2 seconds!
First time installing the ROM
Boot into TWRP -> delete Dalvik, Cache, System and Data -> Install the ROM ZIP -> Install GAPPS -> Restart your phone -> thats it!
Upgrade from earlier version
Boot into TWRP -> delete Dalvik, Cache, System -> Install the ROM ZIP -> Install GAPPS -> Restart your phone -> thats it!
Update to newer version with patch
Boot into TWRP -> Install Patch ZIP -> delete Dalvik, Cache -> Restart your phone -> thats it!
Bugs and how you can fix it
- to reduce flickering on apps (only few have this issue), go to: settings -> developer options -> animation duration scale -> animation off

Is the ROM rooted?
No. You can install Magisk or SuperSu via TWRP
What about other languages?
You can choose your language as usual
Are the Google Play Service already installed in this ROM?
No. You have to install newest open pico gapps (ARM -> Android 7.1 -> Pico)
Is this rom for the old or new eMMC?
The current kernel allows to support both versions. it doesn't matter if new (DL2016) or old (Q823MB)
We'll get soon MIUI, IOS or Samsung TouchWiz as ROM?
No, No and No. All three ROMs exits but they are so buggy.
I dont will publish these ROMs. They are not ready as daily driver.
What is the different between source and optimized in changelog version?
source: build the custom rom directly new from source code
optimized: only changed some files / fixed bugs from latest rom

Just find dotos lovley and fast, that's the reason why I compiled this rom from source too. If you are on nougat, you can decide between these ROMs.

Maybe DotOS can support "OMS" feature. Need to patch it in source directly.. It's to support Substratum APP and applys system wide themes.
I'll bring it with V02 (if it works, im not sure) and set the correct battery value (forgot to set it in V01 correctly, but its a visual bug only)
Why does @primekibz say that it is better to dotOS than ColtOS?
Hi there…it has security updates upto Febuary 5th 2018, for the time that i have used no app has crashed, it's much smooth when it come's to performance.
I have problems with music player.
Download Phonograph Music player its much better then the default one which is quite unstable at times. Actualy the default music app is based on Phonograph since its open source
when going to update applications in play store stops?
You need to activate rotation everytime your in playstore, use your phone in landscape mode so that it does not give the error message…
Told it already that is a problem in nougat, our old kernel and mt6580 SoC (OpenGL 2.0). The easiest way is to use another Android version (or rotation). Can't fix it because we have no source code from cubot kernel.
Maybe in future Oreo has not this bug, if they can boot Oreo on this chipset
after screen goes off doesnt display again until you restart or soft restart…

this error comes with the applications that were previously closed, also happens when I go to play store and look at updates, I'm glad that the error of forcing has been solved
Yes,these apps has sometimes graphic glitches. The kernel has still the old bugs for nougat, so I only found a way without crashes. But yes, some apps have graphis issues.
The fix for app crashes includes the fix for blackscreen for unlock device while charging

Fixed it. Was the wrong patch updater script for this device. this patch only fixed some lines in build.prob.

So no new compile was necessary (i dont will compile new version currently. Dont want to waste my time and only add some patches)
This patch need to be installed after the normal version.
Beware - Every Patch is only for his own firmware (build.prob contains specific details for the rom)

When I'm installing your ROM I'm getting: detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/platform/mtk-msde.0/by-name/system. And everything is freezes.

You need to be on Android 6.0 Android 5.0 does not work.
Flash latest offical (20170711) from Cubot with SP Flash Tool and boot up once the Android 6.0
