Thanks, ROM 3 was perfect for getting GApps onto my Chinese M1B2 device.
I never went deep into the world of ROMs and rooting etc and now, after being passive for years and reaching an age of 87, I forgot most of it. So, forgive me for asking very basic questions. I just got a Teclast M40 Pro delivered to Sweden from a Banggood Polish warehouse, thinking it would be fully European. System language could easily be set to Swedish, but when I wanted to use an external keyboard, I found that, although all settings where in place for choosing key layouts from a long list of languages (incl Swedish), they were all inactive and the external keyboard always remained locked to English (US). This was also later confirmed by Banggood, who refused to accept it as a failure and a valid reason for return. I am pretty sure there is an official ROM that doesn´t have this limitation, so I am looking for one to replace the ROM that is onboard now, rather than rooting and then finding out what to do and how to do it to fix the problem.
I have found this page listing various ROMs, but there are some other. I need your help to choose and navigate to the best. First some facts on my tablet:
Model: M40Pro_EEA
Android-version: 11
Version: V1.03_20210804
I have noted that there are some other version designators, like (M1A1), (M1A2) etc. What do they mean and how do I know which ones apply to/can I use on my device?
What is the difference between EU and EEA version designations?
I need a multilingual version with gapps incl., but root is not required, since I am happy with the tablet as long as the external keyboard issue is fixed. Also, but less important, I prefer as later version of Android.
Thanks for any help any. I have paid for a premium account and can download myself.

Hi
to back of your tablet you've M1A1 or M1A2 and no compatibility between versions
ROW = international
EEA = Europe
Hi,
Thanks for replying. I have M1A1 (very small print at the back, could hardly read) and, typical to my luck, your M40 Pro listings seem to cover everything, except M1A1. Why is that, is it a rare beast on the market? What makes the difference to M1A2 and other versions?
- What do you recommend that I do now? Where else can I find M1A1 ROMs?

Hi, I don´t understand how I missed that one, but thanks anyhow.
- I assume it is ROM 2 I should use since it is EEA ?
- Nothing is mentioned on Rom 2 about Gapps, rooting and language, does EEA automatically means it has Gapps included, no root and multilingual support?
re
rom 2 for you (europe)
and rom 1 and rom 2 have Gapps , Multilang
Some questions on the Upgrade tutorial:
1. Preparations: step 3 says ”Turn off the tablet”. Does it mean it should remain turned off until following step?
2. Install the Firmware: step 5 says ”Click the “Update” icon and hold down the VOLUME_DOWN of table then connect with computer”. Could you please expand this step in more detail. Is it like this?
5A: First click the “Update” icon.
5B: Then hold down the VOLUME_DOWN of table while you press the ON button.This means you turn on the tablet.
5C: Then connect the USB cable to the PC.
Please correct if anything above is wrong
Hi
1 = Turn off the tablet, after update firmware your tablet will automatically power
5a = ok
5b = only "Then hold down the VOLUME_DOWN"
5c = ok
Thanks again. I think I have everything regarding procedure, except I am curious about how a tablet can be powered on with no hard switch, just by connecting a USB cable. Does it work with a USB 3 to USB-C cable connected to PC´s USB-C via an adapter hub?
Two more questions.
How do I restore stuff like IMEI and serial number?
What should I do with Factory-Upgrade-Research?
I have done the flashing now and everything worked OK as predicted except the tablet did not power on automatically. I had to do it the normal way when the update was finished. In fact, I have done it twice. ROM 2 turned out to be identical to the one I already hade in my brand new tablet and to my dismay it had the same issue with external keyboard settings. I then decided to try the ROW version and that one too had the issue. So, can you believe that Teclast is currently selling a tablet worldwide that can only use an external keyboard in English?
Hi
Maybe
and i don't think than Telcast will put a update of this model
