Ported Newman MIUI v5 – 4.2.15 on ZOPO ZP998

Install ROM:
CWM or use TWRP of paolothlw8 ( thx paolo)
Step 1: Download the custom ROM copied to an external SD card root directory
Step 2: the shutdown state. While holding down:
– Power button + volume button up, to enter the recovery mode.
– Wipe Data / Factory Reset -> delete all user data
– Wipe Cache Partition -> Wipe cache
Step 3: Return to recovery main interface Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard -> Select your ROM
Step 4: Brush complete, restart the phone Patience required – first boot takes a while
※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM
i tried the v1 and was a bit disapointed by the lot missing french translation :/
don't know what the sources are, but miuandroid (who did multilingual rom) has much more french.
the camera error was of course fast fixed by adding another camera app
too much chinese bloatware and chinese keyboard
but v2 looks promizing, will give a deeper try
I was in middle of trying to port miui on 998 but every tutorial i followed was not working :/
(i try to port hongme stable 5 from miuiandroid.com directly… not to port something that works on other 8core device …)
If it could give information for anyone : For this update (and the v1 too) i have formated system before install this rom (out of habit) : it don't boot…just the logo zopo. So just wipe factory reset and cache and it's ok.
I like MIUI but until whatsapp will crush I can't install it.
on v2 whats app work?
Ok i try update version whatsapp crash. Camera crash too for me.
Camera - it's not a problem - treated installing any other of your choice.
And Viber who tested???
as far for me my bugs are, internal memory "sdcard1" dosn't mount when connecting phone to PC and whatsapp crashes
i don't know if a V3 is planned, if not I will create one
for V3:
remove the chinese market
replace the chinese keyboard by a normal keyboard
remove the not working camera and put another camera app
need to find why whatsapp is crashing :/

Can you put Portuguese language in the V3
You'd try to install an old whatsapp version. I remember an xda thread but I cannot find it.
I can go in Google Play and contacts don't synchronize, I install Google apps but something is wrong, the google play is without connection.
