Install ROM:
Install with SP MDT:
1). Turn off the smartphone. Cable is not connected to the computer.
2). Remove the battery and insert it again
3). Connect your phone to a computer cable. The operating system detects a new device
4). Disconnect the cable from the computer.
5). Run SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject.exe
6). Choose File> Open File Agent download and specify the file MTK_AllInOneDA.bin (it is in the folder SP_MDT).
7). Click Scatter File and select the MT6735_Android_scatter.txt file (it's in the folder with the rom).
8). Click "Start all".
9). Connect your phone to a computer cable. The program should see and blink. If the phone is not detected, then unplug it from the computer,
remove and insert the battery (if the battery is removable) and reconnect it to the computer.
10). After (OK) click Stop and disable any phone.
11). Completed.

the newest update reinstall a few apps and i can cot install it again because the playstore give ne erros
Hello. I have my x17 remaining block on the following page has a CUBOT rebooting . I try to install the SP has days with MDT but this one strikes me this: 1. COM port number repetitive or invalid . 2. Brom and preloader avez la même comport number ! Please modify em in INI file or scan again. Do you have a solution to my problem ? Thank you in advance.
All these instructions are just a bunch of crap, I get that same com port and brom errors as anyone else, when will people start and listen to complaints and post decent stuff that can be used? I think this Cubot company is not up to the task of serving customers, it is a shame that such great hardware only gets crappy update instructions and non-working stuff for download.
Actually, SP_Flash_Tool_v5. 1604 as mentioned in a few posts before indeed worked with flashing the ROM, do not use this linked older version provided on the download page. And it is also completely silly to try to remove the battery
. Simply power off the phone, start the flash tool, select firmware upgrade from the provided action and load the scatter file. Then click on download. Now you connect the still powered off Cubot X17 with your PC and bang, the update starts immediately. Now simply wait until you geht that Download OK message (green check mark icon). Close the flash tool, unplug your phone and reboot it.
Important before flashing, save your work, because everything will be overwritten when you flash the phone with a new ROM.
My X17 wist not recognized and the flash process did not start, I'm using the latest SP Tool and I have the same issue with Windows 10 and Windows 7.
Connecting the Cubot X17 to these PC is not a problem and Explorer recognize it properly as X17.
Any hints?
root in v06 is possible! system partition needs to be resized! any idea?? first solution is like this:
1. flash complete v06 rom
2. flash twrp for v04 (!)
3. first restart must (!) be recovery (vol+ and power) else the system reflashs stock recovery and you have to go back to step 2 ;o)
4. swipe to allow changes then mount system
5. go back and then to advanced ->filemanager
6. navigate to system and delete last file: "recovery-from-boot.p" (so recovery wont be overwritten
))
7. navigate to /system/app and delete folders you DEFINITIVELY don´t need, like galaxy4 or operamini. you don´t need much space. everithing else could be deinstalled later
8. reboot to system, select your language, connect to pc and go to developer options. check oem unlocking and usb debugging. when asked for allow the computer…
9. pu supersu 2.76 zip-file to the phone, restart to recovery and install the supersu zip. wipe cache…

with my last try something went wrong… 2nd test starts fine but then hangs…
complete wipe (factory reset)! works fine!!!!
After pressing Start all my X17 shows boot logo and then battery charging symbol. Nothing else is happening. Any hints?
Done, you have to check all COM ports to find the one which is working.

dont install this version, have a very bad battery drain bug….
