First of all
if you want an stable upgrade, i would prefer my LOS-ROM. They are both stable and can be used as daily device. This offical ROM has some "malware" apps and installed by cubot automatically. Actually, i don't know how critical are these apps. Otherwise take a look on my other ROMS directly for our device:

How to install the ROM
You have to use SPFlash tool to flash your device.
The file in the attachment is zipped and valid for SP Flash Tool.
Backup your data somewhere else first (sd-card, computer, etc) and copy it back to your device later.

This ROM is contaminated with malware! I advise everyone against using this suddenly appeared ROM. A year later, a new ROM for this old device appears? That is very suspicious and implausible. The Cubot site was not accessible for a while.
Either the developer deliberately infested this ROM with the malware, or Cubot became the victim of a hacking attack.
In any case, I have had enormous problems: 2 malware installed on me, without asking me. After uninstalling these malware, they have repeatedly installed themselves. No way to stop it!

How dense are you? It's an official rom, a year is not that much of a long time to release an update.

Root your Phone with Magisk (way better than SuperSu imo) and your "malware"-problem is gone.
i added TWRP for the currently new ROM release. Works fine with magisk 15.1

the rom is offical from cubot directly. you can download the rom as well from the main cubot site.
In this ROM two apps are not installed default anymore. I checked apps like "ant keyboard" and another one. Can you tell the name from the "malware" and how do you find them?

I downloaded and uploaded the ROM from the official Cubot page. And there it is contaminated with malware. I do not have the exact file names anymore. The DAteien have a green Android sign and the name begins with "com." at. I can still remember the third self-installing files: PService. On my second mobile Cubot Note S with the ROM version 5, she is not on it. This is also a malware.
Tell me one thing: Is that okay that com.-files install by themselves on the device and then as user apps? Probably not right?

i guess i can't help you right now. My brother has the smartphone but is still on an older version currently. Could be possible that the new added files are malware or modified files. Actually im not sure. Youc ould try to root your Note S and delete the files / maybe use an virus scanner as well if it helps

This rom is good as far as am aware, its not infected by any malware unlike the previous one which had serch service as the malware that would steal information..Download malwarebytes and run a full scan
Does installing this wipe the device (put it back to factory settings)?
I've installed past Note S official updates and they always wiped the device.
What's the method for installing this without wiping the phone?
