Install ROM:
Install with SP MDT:
1). Turn off the smartphone. Cable is not connected to the computer.
2). Remove the battery and insert it again (if the battery is removable)
3). Connect your phone to a computer cable. The operating system detects a new device
4). Disconnect the cable from the computer.
5). Run SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject.exe
6). Choose File> Open File Agent download and specify the file MTK_AllInOneDA.bin (it is in the folder SP_MDT).
7). Click Scatter File and select the MT6580_Android_scatter.txt file (it's in the folder with the rom).
8). Click "Start all".
9). Connect your phone to a computer cable. The program should see and blink. If the phone is not detected, then unplug it from the computer,
remove and insert the battery (if the battery is removable) and reconnect it to the computer.
10). After (OK) click Stop and disable any phone.
11). Completed.

Was able to root flashing TWRP recovery and using TWRP to install SuperSU.

The beautysnap malware can be removed by TWRP without rooting. Boot into TWRP, and use TWRP file manager to mount system file system and remove gangyun folders.
Stopped the popups but still have a couple of issues with this phone. Have to reboot the phone a couple of times per day for it to be able to connect to wifi again. After using wired headphones to listen to FM radio the fingerprint reader stops functioning until reboot.
Hi guys, I am having issues with doogee x5 max, When I type decent fast with keyboard, it eats up my words and therefore not typed correctly
(for instance, if I type NEEDROM fast, it shows NEDRM , let me tell you I am not so fast typer, but my previous phones(5 in total) had no problem at all with same typing speed except for this phone!!
what is the problem? and anybody have same issue with me? thx

Never install the latest version of firmware(Doogee X5 Max – Update 09/29/2016) !!!! it sucks battery like hippo
just while the standboymode when sleeping (for 8 hours or so) it drains up 23% while the older version (6/21) does 3 – 4% only (no other background task , only wifi on. but wifi signal only consumes 1% on both firmware so its not big deal)
Anyone has a room without these stupid ads?? Or whats the easiest way to remove them if I still want to receive OTA updates??
when will the andorid 7.0(nougat) version update? x5 pro already had firmware upgrade to 7.0 in needrom
