Hello everybody, I prepared a new custom rom compatible with ANY Iocean x7 based on latest stock firmware for Iocean Elite (02/12 version). I implemented Aroma Installer from Gamma v1.2 onwards and rom zip is now the same for any Iocean x7 (Youth, Youth Turbo, Plus, Elite).

Installation guide

Quote:

To flash this rom you need a custom recovery as CWM or TWRP. You can download TWRP for all Iocean from here.
Otherwise if you prefer CWM, download this CWMrecovery.img for Iocean x7 Youth/Youth Turbo or this one for Iocean x7 Plus/Elite and flash it through MobileUncleTools app.
I strongly recommend you to take a Nandroid Backup before flashing this (or any other) rom. I recommend you to backup your IMEI too. To do this you can simply write both IMEI on a piece of paper (you can find them in Settings > About Phone > Status > IMEI information)

To install it, follow these simple steps:

Download zip file of the rom (see Download section) and put it in your sdcard - PUT IT IN EXTERNAL SD IF YOU WANT TO REPARTITION
Reboot into recovery
Wipe data (factory reset if you're using CWM), wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache (advanced section in CWM) - DO NOT WIPE SYSTEM
Install rom zip from sdcard/external sdcard and follow Aroma installer wizard

Aroma installer will give you the possibility to repartition internal sdcard (more available space for apps).
If you choose "Do nothing" option, go to point #6 of this guide
If you choose "Repartition" follow instructions in the spoiler below:

Repartitioning Intructions

Select Show

ATTENTION: REPARTITIONING WILL FORMAT INTERNAL SDCARD

Click on "Repartition" and choose desired /data partition size (rom stock value is 1.5GB for any iocean model)
Installation process WILL NOT INSTALL ROM (only resize /data)
Reboot into your ORIGINAL ROM, you should get an error message as the one below (if you don't get this message, just skip this point):
Click on "Reset phone" (this will reboot into recovery) and wait until it automatically reboot into your original rom again
You now need to reboot into recovery to install GammaRom v1.2 (you only repartitioned your original rom so far). You can do this in 3 different ways (choose only one):
1. Quick way —> Switch your phone off, connect it to your pc, push power button + volume up button at the same time until you enter recovery
2. Geek way —> You can skip Google account login (if asked to login) tapping on upper left corner of the screen then upper right corner, botton right corner and finally botton left corner. Once skipped google signing in, reboot into recovery using "Quick Boot" app (it has been installed into your original rom during repartitioning)
3. Dummy way —> Login with your Google account (if asked to login) and reboot into recovery using "Quick Boot" app (it has been installed into your original rom during repartitioning)
Congratulation, you successfully repartitioned your phone. You can now follow this guide from point 3 onwards (wipe data, cache, dalvik and install rom zip) this time choosing "Do nothing" instead of "Repartition".

Follow Aroma instructions and reboot once finished
Be patient, first boot may take longer than usual
Read post #2 to get the best from this rom (do not skip this)

  try to reflash, remember wiping cache, dalvik & data. For what concerns .mp4, right now it still keeps stock rom behaviour for what concerns media format. I'll see whether to change it in the future.

  I guess you repartitioned /data, right? in case of issues, simply choose 1.5GB /data storage again and follow the whole guide. Don't forget wiping /data each time you launch aroma wizard (two times if you repartition) otherwise /data partition won't be resized and you'll get into a bootloop or phone won't detect internal sdcard. Anyways in case of issues just choose 1.5GB as stock rom.

  First of all I suggest you to use attached TWRP recoveries, they're deeply tested and confirmed working on all iocean with this rom. Secondly if you get issues, just keep 1.5GB stock /data partition for now. Thirdly, if your rom got somehow messed up, you could try to flash above a clean stock rom, just to be sure. Once finished installing wizard, it would be useful if you can provide me a recovery log (option prompted at the end of installation). That will tell if anything went wrong during installation.

hi Sambaaa after flashing gamma rom shows "networks or sim card error".i can not take or receive calls.

i see this problem is only to me,but with other roms my sim cards works normal.

  Hi, check under settings>about phone that your imei is correct. Otherwise flash patch linked above and if still not working, remove 3g turbocharger entries in build.prop
