Install ROM:
 V2 and up

Download desired zip and copy on sdcard.

You need a modified recovery to install the firmware and updates. If you have it already, proceed to step 3. If you don't have, follow these steps:

1. Download Lenovo drivers, unzip the archive. Turn off the phone and remove battery. Open device manager and connect the phone to PC. Watch for new devices. It will be displayed as МТ65хх Preloader. You need to be quick, because it will dissapear in some second. Click on it with the right button and select update driver. Point the wizard to the driver folder, it will install the correct driver automatically.
If it doesn't work with removed battery you can try to power on the phone and turn on developer options in settings or enter meta mode – hold Volume Down and Power buttons. Then connect the phone to PC again.
2. Download and extract Recovery zip and Flash tools. Run Flash Tools, click on DL DA All With Check Sum, load the scatter file located in Recovery folder, uncheck Preloader and hit Download (F6). Remove battery from phone and connect it to PC. When done, a green circle will appear.
3. Enter recovery mode – hold Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons until you see the logo. Make a backup of your current system first. Install new zip.

※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM

"but there not many people interested in that, while I need a volunteer for a test"

    Infrared, how can I help?

    I’ll be volunteer as well.

I noticed that there're some new kernel governor, lulzactiveq. And new i/o schedulers likes fifo, row, fiops, zen, vr

Just tested fiops, it's faster than the default one, cfq.(The test is basce on buffer size:128kb, file size:10mb)

From this page, the arthor said that the best screen ON + performance is smartassV2. And I wanna know how can we add a new governor?

I've tried various other governors, but hotplug works best on our device and maybe on all 6589/MTK.

The ones available in the kernel are those which "kind of" work. I may try smartassV2 on the new kernel again, but it was not working correctly on the old one. Most of the governors are made for dual-core devices and don't work fine on 4, 6 and 8, so no point in adding non-working governorns. Some of them require a reboot, so if you change it, then it is best to reboot in order to see if it works.

Btw, adding a governor or scheduler is one of the easiest things. It was the first thing I tried when I managed to compile the kernel for the first time :) .

Maybe I should learn to compile the kernel and then we can easily shoot the bugs..

But everything are hard to begin, how can I get start by now if I wanna to compile a jernel?

Linux x64 (eg. Ubuntu is a good choice), I use Linux Mint. Install needed packages, download source (git sync or download zip and extract), download toolchain, then run the build.sh from kernel direcoty. Change parameters in build.sh if needed.

You can see prerequisites explaied here: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php.....0#entry33171414

I'm using VMware to simulate the environment, I install Lubuntu, one of the branch of Ubuntu.

Just downloaded your sorce code from Github named Lenovo_A820_kernel_proton.zip

It takes me about 30mins to compile a zImage.

Actually, I don't know the russain language, so I learn the knowledge from this page

After getting the zImage, I don't know that to do next….

Use the proton_z. The other one is old and not maintained/updated.

The new one will also use all cpu cores for compilation, so it would be faster.

After you compile the zImage, you need to repack it. I will include the scripts and ramdisk in the next commit, so it will be automatic, but for now you would need to repack it manually. Take the boot.img from one of the zips, checkout this repo https://github.com/bgcngm/mtk-.....tools

Place the "stock" boot.img in the same folder and do the unpack. It will dump the zImage and ramdisk. Then repack using the other script and the new kernel (zImage).

      ./repack-MTK.pl -boot zImage boot.img-ramdisk new-boot.img

When your boot img is ready, you would need to create a flashable zip. There are several utilities for this in xda, but I don't know which one currently works. Just take the content from some of my kernel zips, replace boot.img and create the flashable zip. Perhaps you can flash just the boot.img via Flashtools in windows by loading the scatter file from a stock rom, ticking DA DL All with checksum and downloading just the newly created boot.img.

I have one question about the "stock" boot.img. Can I borrow yours to be unpacked ?

Or I have to unpack the one from the official rom like S138 or S150 ?

    okay, after typing

    unpack-MTK.pl boot.img

    I only got a folder boot.img-ramdisk but without zImage.img
