Install ROM:
 V2 and up

Download desired zip and copy on sdcard.

You need a modified recovery to install the firmware and updates. If you have it already, proceed to step 3. If you don't have, follow these steps:

1. Download Lenovo drivers, unzip the archive. Turn off the phone and remove battery. Open device manager and connect the phone to PC. Watch for new devices. It will be displayed as МТ65хх Preloader. You need to be quick, because it will dissapear in some second. Click on it with the right button and select update driver. Point the wizard to the driver folder, it will install the correct driver automatically.
If it doesn't work with removed battery you can try to power on the phone and turn on developer options in settings or enter meta mode – hold Volume Down and Power buttons. Then connect the phone to PC again.
2. Download and extract Recovery zip and Flash tools. Run Flash Tools, click on DL DA All With Check Sum, load the scatter file located in Recovery folder, uncheck Preloader and hit Download (F6). Remove battery from phone and connect it to PC. When done, a green circle will appear.
3. Enter recovery mode – hold Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons until you see the logo. Make a backup of your current system first. Install new zip.

※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM

Hello, can anybody help with this problem (v. 2.4.1):

    - I cant hear FMradio in Bluetooth headphones

Other audio (phone, music, video) play in headphones, only fm radio cannot detect BT headphones and play internal speaker. If I try classical headphones (wired), FM radio play in headphones.

Isn't that because the Phone needs the wired headphones as an antenna? It's probably less to do with it not detecting the BT headphones, and more because it knows there is no wired antenna so it will not pick up FM radio anyway.

Kernel does not support A2DP (FM radio over Bluetooth). It's not a bug, simply this feature is not enabled.

Can possibly be fixed with a custom kernel/rom only. Don't take everything as granted, some features are simply not implemented/enabled by Lenovo.

Don't expect it anytime soon. It is not so simple. Especially for one person who does this in his free time.

Big companies work on new versions of their roms for months and they have dev teams with more experience. That's what they do for living, that's their job. The full source is 15-20GB and there are thousands of files. Even upgrading to 4.4.4 is a tedious job. You can still use the KK version based on my initial port, hosted at 4pda.ru

Infrared, could you please post here or somewhere else the three patches for the 4.4.2 KitKat? I have downloaded and installed it from 4pda.ru using google translate, but I could not manage to make an account to download them from the site, I am using the 1.2 version of the ROM, and it drains the battery very fast in idle mode, and I was hopeing your first patch could solve that, as I think you said, as I managed from the translation. I would also like to try the one with the enabling of the internal memory card. And I did not also understand very clearly, the sound is also a issue, right? Sometimes it is too loud and makes some noises like some electrical discharges or something of a high freqency or coil. Thank you anyway for your projects!

These are not my patches. I've only provided kernel and initial alpha version of the rom.

Sound from external speaker is kind of strange – sometimes there is sound like from frequency modulation.

Otherwise sound from calls and headphones is good. I've tested music with Shure SRH440 (closed monitor headphones) and Beyerdynamic DTX101 iE (in-ear).

is there a way to upgrade from 2.3.4 to 2.4.2

Unfortunately it will not work. You need to make a full backup, install new rom, then restore apps and settings.

You can do that easyly with Nandroid Manager.

If you have an old recovery, better update it to CWM 6.0.3.2 from this page or some of the twrp versions available over the net.

Thank you, Infrared. About the traffic bar patch, is it usefull at battery life in idle? Because I think it drains faster than usual. And if yes, where could I download it from?

You need to have account at 4pda to download files.

I haven't tested it myself, but they say the traffic meter is responsible for battery drain, so the patch should fix it.

Personally I use my daily KK build and battery life is great, but it's not ready for primetime, although almost everything works fine.

Working together with mastersanta from Poland.
