ROM Install :
Unpack FlashTools, and Click on Flash_tool.exe
Select a the MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt in ROM
Turn off your phone, remove the battery.
Press F9 (or hit Download button) and connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
And green circles display
Finish !
You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on.
※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM

I had the same problem with another version and I was saved by flashing a full original ROM (like S118) with the Flash Tool v3.1304.0.119 (same inside S118) with "Firmware->Upgrade" and not "Download"
In fact the first time I chose "Download" but already issue with IMEI and the second time I fashed with "Firmware->Upgrade".
If it doesn't work, try MKT Droid Tools, sometimes is possible to write the IMEI, but it haven't worked for me.
Had you make a backup with CWM?

Unfortunately I don't have any backup. I received my phone with corrupted system (random restarts and shutdowns but in between was working fine) and decided it's not worth to make backup of it. My mistake.
I tried with MKT Droid Tools but it doesn't see my phone.

Can you do me a favour please, can you check what's the size of your MP0B_001 file? The one I generated is 25 bytes. Is your the same?

You have to start into CWM, USB disconnected, you start MKT Droid Tools, then connect USB.
Sometime you have to disconnect and reconnect to USB twice. The drivers must be installed.
But, have you made a full flash ROM as I did? It worked fine for me.

I tried S113 ROM, still no luck. I also always do "Firmware -> Upgrade" with "DA DL all with check sum" selected, so that can't be the problem. I think I'll have to give MKT Droid Tools another try. Thanks for all your help anyway.

I wish it would be that easy with my phone.
I tried that countless amount of time as well as other methods from XDA including terminal emulator, mobileuncle and MKT Droid and no luck so far.
I’m starting to believe it’s a fault with my phone.

Hi,
I tried to install a custom ROM on a friend's A830 using SP Flash Tools. First I flashed the custom ROM without checking "DA DL All with Checksum", then in my stupidity formatted first "Whole Flash without Bootloader" and then "Whole Flash". Luckily I managed to somehow unbrick it but I'm at the "Tool DL Image Fail, uboot blocking by dl info" phase. I tried re-flashing both this ROM and the custom ROM I originally downloaded several times, along with several attempts at formatting everything but the preloader, but the error is still there. It's worth noting that the Flash Tools version that came with this ROM doesn't work for me (when I try to load it it throws some error about trying to write to address 00000000000) for some reason so I used another, so this might be the issue. I'd very much appreciate any help (it's not even my phone…)
