DESCRIPTION
THL 5000 Lite ROM 2.0 - all Lite ROMs are very fast and smooth, there is no lagg of any kind, works perfect, fast and smooth.
This is the next ROM from excellent ukrainian author Dimid/iv2012 (see below this post and please donate him on WebMoney, if you have an account there). It's a pity that Dimid hasn't Paypal. ROM advantages are: pure Android, small size, simplicity, speed and low battery consumption. ROM is ROOTed, GAPPS are included, OTG works. Dimid gave me permission to upload ROM here. I prepared a little bit modified version where removes residual cyrillic, added missing translates and made a few small changes. I'm excited from this ROM - I have installed Gravity Box through which I set what I need.
Languages: Multilanguage
Installation: (as usually from TWRP)
1 – save the ROM file Lite_v2_Odex_2.zip on the SD card
2 – jump to TWRP recovery, if you haven't it, install it (installation instructions are here, sorry in slovak language only,use Google translator): http://androidforum.cz/twrp-2-7-1-0-root-pre-thl-5000-t57731.html
3 – click Wipe and select items: Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, Data, Int.SDcard (optional) and Android Secure, then click Swipe to Wipe
4 – click on Install, choose ROM file Lite_v2_Odex_2.zip and install it – click Swipe to Install, then click Reboot System
5 – enable notification LED in Settings/Display/Led switch -> Enable
6 – finish
7 – if you don't like default wallpaper (like me), setup wallpaper from Classic V3 ROM
8 – If you will install Gravity Box, do not forget change default setting in Phone tweaks/Telephony/Fullscreen caller photo, set it to Partial and restart phone
Optional patches (Important: Install it in TWRP: click on Install, then click Wipe Cache/Dalvik, finally click Reset to system):
- Modem_st_850.zip – original THL modem 850/2100MHz. If you have problems with wifi/3G, try this. It will replace integrated 900/2100Mhz modem from Dimid (several people reported small problems, me not). This modem may be used in any Dimids ROM. If you do not have problems, do not install.
- Kernel110_old_disp_fixed.zip - core for old display type (install when your Gama is different from value 2.0)
- SoundRecorder.zip - corrects falling sound recorder
- Unlock_VolKey.zip - phone unlocking by the volume buttons
- Unlock_VolKey_back.zip - switch off unlocking by the volume buttons (revert back original state)
- PermControlNoIcon.zip - deactivate the Permission Controll apk icon in the upper left corner in any launcher
- FMRadio112.zip - FM Radio from stock ROM 1.1.2. (has RDS)
- DolbyAtmos_r6.5.zip - sound enhancer Dolby Atmos 6.5, after installation will get new icon Dolby Atmos, settings there. (before installation make full backup in TWRP (If you would like to go back)
Other files:
- default_wallpaper_Classic3.rar - default wallpaper from Classic V3 ROM – unpack archive, will get JPG file, set it as wallpaper in launcher.

@pixel86: As long as MTK doesn't give out the Lolipop Sources for MTK6592 and/or THL doesn't make a new rom with Lolipop there will NOT be a Lolipop on THL5000.

Fast rom but the battery usage is still a little higher than ultimate v1. ultimate v3 was the worst (Systum.ui using over 50%). With the Lite-ROM Androd-System has the highest usage after the display…don't know why ultimate v1 is the best for me but it is…best battery runtime.

I installed this rom,why the phone is so hot.i haven't installed any software and do nothing,just setting the phone.
Well thl 5000 tends to get hot, its normal, as long as the phone is under 50 degrees celsius ure fine
But the battery drain faster,while the ultimate v1 has no such problem.

I have only a problem: I can't connect my "LG G watch R" via bluetooth. Any suggestions?

for me it was working as I've written (after three days of trying – and always no chance to type in pairing-code. Before that, I always forgot, to put the Watch on the battery-station (i thought the watch has enought power, so there is no need for…)
maybe you must first go to settings -> apps -> android wear and delete there cache and everything, than deinstall android wear.
Than restart the THL 5000. Than reset the LG watch to factory-setting. than start LG-Watch than put LG Watch on the Batter-station so its loading. then go to the next step on the watch until its saying you have to pair the watch about android wear (keep the Watch during this on the Battery-station.) Than start bluetooth on the THL 5000 and install after this android wear and start android wear on the phone. than press on the left upper Corner Menue and paring with new watch. than the pairing was working for me and LG Watch R. I keep my fingers cross … it will help you
I have 2 days average battery time on heavy usage, so no battery problems here

1. you have to reset the LG-Wach to factory state (as if you start the watch the very first time).
2. Than you have to install Android wear.
3. (very important) put the watch on the battery station (as written on the watch) if you don't do this, pairing won't work
4. than start android wear on the THL and try pairing
5. than paring is working and everything is fine

After half day battery is only 57%, I calibrated battery but I have still same problem.
Done and done more time bit doesn’t work….

I've followed your instructions but it doesn't work.
"passkey or pin not correct"…
This ROM is smoothest and the most stable of all THL 5000 ROMs I've tried so far.
However, it still hasn't solve the following 2 issues (Notification Bar Lag & CRT off transition lag):
Notification Bar Lag – The following steps are to demonstrate the lag:
1. At the home screen/desktop, drag the Notification bar down & tap the toggle button (This is laggy)
2. Use Nova Launcher (any version, just download the one from playstore)
3. Go to "Look & Feel" menu
4. Under "Notification Bar" untick/turn off "Show notification bar"
5. Go to the Home screen/Desktop
6. Drag the Notification bar down & tap the toggle button (This is not laggy, very smooth transition)
CRT off transition lag:
1. Open Gravity Box
2. Click on "Display tweaks"
3. Select "CRT" as your "Screen off effect"
4. Reboot phone
5. Turn screen on and off repeatedly (observe how sluggish the transition is compared to other phones. . .)
If anyone has any idea how to fix these two issues, then this phone will even be more awesome!
That still won't fix it. With nova launcher you'd want to go to settings, then tap "gestures and Buttons". You should see gestures available so tap "swipe down" and select "Expand notifications". This works like a charm but only works when you're in the home screen. I have no idea why this phone has a laggy notification bar despite its beastly specs while other phones out there clock less than half the power this phone could use the notification bar without any lag. As for the crt off lag, I don't use that so I have no clue on how to solve it. BTW, hows your battery life with this ROM? had this Rom on for two weeks and I feel that it drains a little fast compared to ultimate V1.
"Expand notifications" is already set by default in Nova Launcher 4.0.1 . . .

Oh sorry, I'm still using the old nova launcher. I don't feel the need to replace it anyway.
Well I went to classic V3 and It feels like its the best for battery life!
I hope there would be improvements for this ROM in the future, I'll probably stick to Classic v3 for now.

I do not have any problems with this ROM.., everything works like a charm but I have to agree that battery life is the shortest in comparison to Classic V3 Mod and Ultimate V3.
In more or less similar usage Classic V3 Mod is the battery king (almost 6 days of usage, with Ultimate V3 is between 4-5 days, but with Lite 2.0 I can barely pull 4 days…
I do not know the reason…
