I have written to the developers of both TC and FM, and I have heard back from them (excellent response times!). They are now investigating the matter.
I don't know why King changed from SuperSU. I get warnings from Titanium Backup Pro that the superuser version is unknown and may cause problems with some versions of Android 4.3.
Lets wait for their reply , what it is…………………………. or could be.
Every time that the KingRoot "su" is called, this message is generated; "WARNING: linker: libvc1dec_sa.ca7.so has text relocations. This is wasting memory and is a security risk. Please fix". This warning appears twice.
Reading stderr would probably show this warning, and apps might well treat it as an error, and assume that there is something wrong with "su" (or that it is refusing root access). So, the real solution is for KingRoot to amend its "su" so that this warning is not generated (i.e., fix the text relocations problem). I don't like the fact that this warning is generated, and I would move away from KingRoot (until the problem is fixed) if I had the choice.
Of course this may not be the source of the rooting issues with TC and FM – but I suspect that it is.
Is this the explanation to my screenshot post? A few days ago
Yes. Apparently, it is an "issue" (#23203) that has "possibly" (there are conflicting reports) been fixed in the Android development kit in 2012 – see https://code.google.com/p/andr.....detail?id=23203
So it seems that someone might need to update their development kit and recompile their "su".
The question now is – is there another way to root this ROM other than KingRoot?
Boah, good question,i cannot answer this.have you wrote to.marsapa, why he changed from SuperSU to King. I mean there is reason for this. With SuperSU i was more satisfied,King is not so fast.
@Darth. Thanks very much 4 your detailed explanation.
You're welcome. At the moment, this problem is more of a nuisance than a major disaster, especially since the author of TC has already fixed the problem tonight. But not all authors are as responsive, and if an app that one really needs suffers this problem but the authors are not responsive, then it would become a major issue.
I haven't written to Marsapa – but I'm sure he has very good reasons for going with King (perhaps it's the only one that works well with KK ?).
I did create a CWM-based root mod, but I'm not brave enough to try it with KK on this phone (basically, I don't want to go through the whole rigamrole of flashing, rooting, etc. again, since this is my main phone).
Overall a great room, previous versions were way too slow.
Great job Marsapa
After marsapa v7 kit kat I have a problem with the gps does not work with anything.
And in the same become v9, I have spent the gps fix 3 and 4 and nothing.
There are other ways to work the gps?
