   it seems i'm in the same situation wih my device : it is still in a old official build : CUBOT_5265C_NOTE_S_20160411 and I have this message "PMT changed for the ROM, it must be download" when i try to flash TWRP 3.2.1-1 (recovery only)

   As PMT means "Partition Management Table", actual partitionning seems "uncompatible" with this TWRP

   I think i have to flash a more recent official build before apply TWRP …

   Can someone suggest an offical build "compatible" with TWRP 3.2.1-1 ?

     You must flash V2017 07 11 from Cubot first. The Scatter File was created for the 20170711 ROM only. If you use another, you need to replace scatter file.

     -> Download 20170711 (https://www.cubot.net/support/.....h-Files-V6.html)
     -> Flash it with SP Flash Tool and boot the rome up once until the homescreen
     -> Now shut down your device and download my TWRP and use my scatter file. it will now detect the right partitions and the same scatter file
     -> flash TWRP now and boot into twrp with VOL + and Power

   I also got the PMT Error, so downloaded and installed the latest official ROM from Cubot which installed fine.

   Then tried to install your TWRP and it seemed to install fine BUT when I restarted and held down the VOL + and POWER BUTTON there was no TWRP just the normal boot options 1,2 and 3.

   I am also having problems

   I already had the ROM from Cubot M800_CUBOT_V6.0_20170711

   I tried before installing anything new to boot into recovery mode and nothing happened it just goes straight into Android OS

   Then I used Seluce's recovery.img file and scatter file and it appeared to install correctly but upson restart I still can't get into any kind of recovery mode pressing the volume up and power buttons, it goes direct into Android OS.

     I tried again today with the latest version of everything to install TWRP to my Cubot Note-S and although everything seemed like it had installed – nothing happens when I restat the phone / turn on the phone with Volume UP pressed, it just boots direct into Android

     Method 1:

     Download the recovery.img and go into TWRP
     Choose Install -> Install Image -> recovery.img -> Partition: Recovery -> Flash -> Reboot

     Method 2:

     You don't need go back to stock rom. use spflash tool and flash newest recovery.img. it will rewrite the recovery partition
     go next start into recovery and verfify the new twrp

   Hi,

   I did as you said in the Howto, but there is no reaction when plugging in the phone, no download.

   Then I resetted the phone and still no reaction. Are there any prerequisites before steps 1-6?

     It should works normally. i tried it on windows 10

     when it does not work for you, install latest mtk drivers for your system. it seems you need to install them

   Hi seluce,

   yes, that was one of my problems as a complete beginner: I had to install the Mediatek drivers first (MT65xx_USB_VCOM_DRIVERS.zip)

   So I had to check these points:

   0. Install Mediatek drivers

   1. be sure you are on offical Cubot Note S V06 (Cubot M800_CUBOT_V6.0_20170711 version)

   1a. Activate Developer options and activate Bootloader access and USB Debugging

   2. turn your device off and don't plug usb cable on your device

   3. download my twrp zip-file and also the SPFlash Tools on your PC

   4. Extract the twrp-zip file and also the SPFlash Tool in C:\TWRP\

   5. Start the SPFlash Tool and choose for "Scatter-loading file" the txt-file in extracted twrp-folder

   6. now press top on "download"
   

   7. connect your USB Cable from Cubot Note S to your PC

   8. the programm will start automatically and flash the TWRP on your recovery partition

   9. when it's done (green tick), unplug the usb cable and start the device once with VOL+ and Power at the same time. Choose in the boot menu "recovery"

   (Select recovery with VOL+ switch and confirm selection with VOL- switch)
   It's important to do this step at the first boot, otherwise the Cubot Recovery will rewrite the parition and you need to do the steps again

   After that I could backup IMEI and install LineageOS 14.1 via internal SD-Card.

     1st, big Thx to seluce  for all that many work, great, great great!!!  
     2nd, samsung158, your red additions made the difference: That worked perfect and seamless now!

     I was on Cubot M800_CUBOT_V4.0 and had problems with the recognition of a Bluetooth Reader device, she did not show up.
     Updated with Cubot factory Instructions to Cubot M800_CUBOT_V6.0 and that alone made the Reader visible in the listing of BT Devices!

     Download works find without issues.
     Maybe try it again with the new link. Upgrades TWRP yesterday to newest 3.3.0-0 version
