DESCRIPTION
Custom kernel for Lenovo A820 suitable for AOSP roms.
Not compatible with mastersanta's V3 rom
v2.1+ is compatible with mastersanta's rom and should be good for any other AOSP-based rom
For MIUI and VIBE wait or ask the developer of your rom.
Aroma installer with some options
- Chipset undervolted (recommended to try this first)
- Chipset at default volts (if you experience glitches or sound corruption, try this one)[/list]
- Backup of NVRAM, IMEI and boot.img (saved on internal and external cards in proton_kernel_backup folder.
- Restore NVRAM, IMEI and boot.img
GPU is now controlled via module interface. init.d script is included and istalled automatically.
You can control GPU DVFS (dynamic voltage and frequency), GPU target frequency and GPU voltages for all states.
The kernel should have better performance and better battery life.

Hello.Yes it seems like you said before.Our A820 has two different processors.One normal, another just get cutted and we are suffers 'cos of this.I am using your 4.4.4 and video records with 720p only.I don't use the FHD video to play on such a small phone so won't check it but my logic says me it won't play with H/W+ due to the sucks processor.Then I have enabled swap file as you advised to and it's working fine.About the processor again I'd add there's not even M version but WM.So it could be a 6589/M/MW.At least linerty said his version was with the WM addition.
It's a great news about you're not going back and still develops the core for our old dinosaur especially when one core could fit two phones(A830 too)
I have checked mine once by removing the heatsink and it is also marked as 6589WM, don't remember exactly.
I guess it is an early revision, so it is actually the "normal" 6589. There might be also some differences in the PCB and the so called eFuse.
The kernel has a variant for A830 too, but I can't solve the front camera problem, since I don't have the device.
Interesting.I just regret to have this version of the phone. I got it with broken pixels on the display and yellow hue which could be actually seen on the dark pictures.Then my version is very unlucky ha.Anyway i turned on the GPU undervolting and it’s working fine, have no problems.I see it’s very flexible to change the values in the script I’d love the idea but surething overclocking do ony worse due the cutted chipset.About A830 owners i think many would use your core even without support the frontal camera.It’s just a small sacrifice to get KK.I remember the times when guys used to just test the 4.3 CM workless at half and was enough of it.
Hi Infrared. As you said I discharged the phone below 10% yesterday and then fully charged. At 7.00am phone was disconnected from charger. 3g on but not used, no calling, no sms, inly time was checked, gps was turned on – 8.30 there is 93℅. I turned off gps, have used 3g for 10 minutes, 1 short call was made – 11.25 and battery is 75℅. While writting this post battery reached 70%.
I will upload a new build soon, which should have the problem resolved.
My and my lady have both these A820 phones.

I don't have such a problem with my kernel on my rom or any other rom I have tried.
I will upload a new build soon, which should have the problem resolved.

RC1 was uploaded long time ago. It is in the same folder in GoogleDrive as the old one.
Am I blind because in your google drive i'm finding only 4.4.2 rom?
Ok I think I found that rom RC1, but then, gapps wont there, and those from same folder where RC1 is, not working, it wont letting me download anything.
I use the same gapps and there's no problem.
4.4.4 had battery drain, so I'm back to 4.4.2 for now.
Ok, gapps are now working. Then theres a problem with root, because your rom doesnt have built it root, and that supersu.zip wont flash. it says
E: Failed to sysMapFile ' /sdcard/UPDATE-SuperSu-v2.45.zip'
Maybe delete the zip and download it again. I have no problems flashing the SuperSu zip from TWRP 2.8.4.0.
All works fine now. I also flashed the RC2, runs smooth.
I installed RC2 and almost everything works perfect, but there is a problem witch charging battery. I was charging battery for all night from 55% and it reach to 62%. I checked other charger witch the same result. I downloaded RC2 again and flashed with the same result. On the different rom everything worked ok. Where is the problem? I figured out when my screen is on,phone is charging normally.
Clean install or as update over other rom?
Because mine charges normally. You can also try with v2.2 of the kernel which is linked here and see if there's a difference. But as I said mine charges normally and I keep my screen off.
Btw, don't try ART mode, it will bootloop!
If that happens, you have to delete or edit from adb shell /data/property/persist.sys.dalvik.vm.lib

I had a problem with supersu, but after reonstalling RC2 problem dissapeared.
I have different problem: my phone stopped installing new apps. He claims there is no more space. But there is more than 2gb on sd card and on inner memory.
