LeTV X500/1S – Original ROM from LeTV – 5.5.008S
- Android 5.0.2
- Build: 5.5.008S
- Only English & Chinese language
- Not rooted & no gapps (but follow my guide further down to get both!)
If you have the LeTV X500/1S with an unoriginal ROM (from one of the shops who install a modified ROM with multilanguage) but want the original ROM from LeTV follow these steps:
1. Enable USB debugging on the phone.
2. Download the file from here called "S1_x500-CN-OP-DBXCNOP5500811172S-5.5.008S.zip". Rename it to "update" (with the extention it is named "update.zip") and copy the file to the root of the phone.
3. Shutdown the phone.
4. Hold volume up and the power button together, as soon you see the LeTV bootlogo, let both go again, and it should boot into the stock recovery.
5. Now check Clear Data so both Update system and Clear data are checked – and then press the Start button
6. Now it will start flashing, now just wait for 10 minutes, and it should boot up and you have a clean new original LeTV system – done!
Now let's install TWRP so we can get ROOT and also install the GAPPS:
(You can also install Gapps via the "Google Installer APK" here http://www76.zippyshare.com/v/DqMeYkMQ/file.html – IMPORTANT: follow the videoguide here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8ZidFOzl-k but with that it will not be permanent, so if you factory reset the phone, the Gapps will be gone, and you need to use the Google Installer again to reinstall the Gapps. If you use the method for TWRP it will be permanent and stay!)
1. Enable USB debugging on the phone.
2. Be sure to have installed ADB drivers, you can install http://pdanet.co/a/ for that (this is important to have a working ADB or it will not work!)
3. Download TWRP_ROOT.rar from in here. Unpack the rar file on the PC to C:TWRP_ROOT
4. Connect phone with the PC, copy the "X500-ROOT.zip" file (found in TWRP_ROOT.rar) into the root of the phone and also copy the ui.zip to the phone and place it in Phone storage/TWRP/theme/ui.zip (this will make the TWRP recovery english when you enter it, else it will be displayed in all chinese)
Copy also "open_gapps-arm64-5.0-nano-20151114.zip" to the root of the phone and "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip"
5. Still connected, run the recover.bat on the PC inside the TWRP_ROOT directory
(If there comes a popup on the phones screen just set allow always USB debugging on the phone)
- A commandpromt screen also appears on the PC
- Press Enter there will be a black screen on the phone with a tiny text on bottom left saying fastboot.
- Enter 2 in command prompt and then press Enter
- On the phone there will be a black screen with tiny texts in the middle.
- Press Enter again and the phone will reboot in TWRP recovery mode that should be displayed in english
6. If you want to ROOT the phone (you can also skip this if you want) then choose in TWRP the Install button and flash the file in root (sdcard) called "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip" reboot and the phone will be rooted.
7. If you want to flash Gapps/Play Store then choose in TWRP the Install button and flash the file in root (sdcard) called "open_gapps-arm64-5.0-nano-20151114.zip" and reboot
8. Done!
9. IF you should experience battery drain because of a WiFi BUG, you can also via TWRP try to flash the file called "x500_wifi_fix_flashWithTWRP.zip"
If you want to remove TWRP recovery, and flash the stock recovery:
Then go into the C:TWRP_ROOT folder and there you find recovery.img and TWRPrecovery.img – where the recovery.img is the original one. Just swap these 2 files, and run the recover.bat again from step 5. And it will flash the original back on the phone! /Guide by s7yler
If you want the X500 ROM with multilanguage and an app drawer then download the:
"Letv_X500_multilanguage_rom(but_no_OTA).rar" but the bad thing is that this ROM doesnt support any OTA, and it may also be missing some few features, like the IR blaster and QR scanner app is not included. So I recommend to use the official LeTV ROM instead.
You can also try BB72's multilanguage/pre-rooted ROM on Grossoshop's page – for instructions on how to install – just translate the page to english (all credits for the ROM goes to BB72). They also have an easy installer for TWRP.

i ordered this phone from coolicool.com and just arrived yesterday things i have notticed so far which i am dissapointed with…
1. its supposed to be quick charging but seems normal time to me at around 2hrs for full charge, is this right? one of the reasons i bought this phone is because of this feature.
2. the os seems to be buggy as in i cant get to some of the menus without it closing and showing 'Unfortunately, process com.android.phone has stopped'.
3, the os seems to be requiring a hell of a lot of memory just to run! this phone has 3gb right, after a restart and allowing time for everything to load i check how much memory is free and it is only 1gb. does the os realy need 2 gb just to run?!?
4. i have also experienced when the os is becoming non responsive
will flashing this os to the device solve these problems?
I was wondering also about the INSANE amount of space the system files took when i got the phone… Even the update file from LeTV is 1GB and thats a zipped file, unzipped its like 1.5GB! Why does this phone need so much space for files? I mean, how big is Android Lollipop?
When i received it it had a sucky international ROM on it and it was not that good, bad translations, no OTA (!), crappy extra bloatware and crashing. After flashing the stock ROM, rooting and GAPPS it still uses a lot of space for files but now it has 1.7GB free in system memory, which means there is 1.3GB in use of system files, which is still a LOT. I frooze all non essential LeTV apps with Link2SD and then installed my own apps. I also did find some large (200MB) .svc files on the phone but not sure if i can delete them cuz i got no idea what they are. SDMaid says i can delete them but im not sure if i can…
Somebody (hint, hint, hint
) should dive into the file system to check what files could be safely deleted without causing problems and OTA.
The hardware of this phone rocks, the international ROM or stock ROM software is not that good imho, the Chinese might like this kinda stuff but i dont, to much useless multimedia crap on it.
Flashing the stock ROM solves the unresponsiveness (in my case it did), it free's up system memory and you will also get OTA, still it doesnt give that much more memory. Im also going to install a a different launcher cause LeTV's stopck one doesnt even sort apps, has no drawer, etc, etc…
Im happy with the phone but i would also like MORE system memory…

My question :
1. for #4 : u mean after letv bootlogo appear, I should press the on/off button to reboot ?
2 : I am already in this option : I checked both option , and pressed the left or right button, caused this in in Chinese, so I am not sure. I pressed the left button and this make the phone being factory reset but I found it was still in international ROM. When I pressed the right button, just nothing happened .

Hey man,
I can't seem to get past the fastboot page. It doesn't brick my phone, i can still restart and use it, but When it tries to flash the recovery, it won't go anywhere from the fastboot page and will just sit there forever unless I reboot the phone in which case it'll just go back into the OS and won't have installed the custom recovery. Any advice?
there must be something wrong with your ADB, try reinstalling http://pdanet.co/a/ - or try also to do it on another computer.
Well it just randomly worked nevermind.
I have now wiped the EUI it came with and installed this, I can say that it is now lag and crash free but..
1. im baffled about the amount of memory EUI takes to run. On mine its around 1.7GB, I thought having a phone with 3GB RAM wil give me 2GB to play with thinking that the OS will only use maximum 1GB.
2. I have just done a full charge from 0% to 100% powered off and it took 2 hours 55 minutes! This is a hell if a long time as my previous phone with a bigger battery only took just over 2 hours. One of the reaasons I bought this phone as it says it supports quick charging and this is obviously not.
Is this the same with others and have anybody found a fix?

Hi Guys,
I just ordered this phone and it hasn't shipped yet, with all the reviews about GPS, Battery drain and Wifi, I am getting concerned, I need X500 to repace a dying S4 and it will be my daily driver, I am not into gaming or music or videos, just use Google Maps a lot and Camera here and there, mostly browsing etc. Should i still go ahead with Letv or cancel my order and buy Redmi Note3 which I was considering earlier but pulled the trigger for Letv due to price difference. Any first hand feedback would be appreciated.
