DESCRIPTION
THL 5000 Ultimate v3 is next great ROM from excellent ukrainian author Dimid/iv2012 (see below this post and please donate him on WebMoney (if you have an account there). It's a pity that Dimid hasn't Paypal. ROM is ROOTed, GAPPS are included. Dimid gave me permission to upload ROM here. I prepared special patch which remove the residual cyrillic and add missing translates (if you want to support me in next translations, there is Paypal donation button down on this page. It is not a button to support Dimid, donate him on WebMoney, if you have an account there).

Installation: (as usually from TWRP)
1 - save the ROM file THL_5000_Ultimate_III.zip on the SD card
2 - jump to TWRP recovery, if you haven't it, install it (installation instructions are here, sorry in slovak language only,use Google translator): http://androidforum.cz/twrp-2-7-1-0-root-pre-thl-5000-t57731.html
3 - click Wipe and select items: Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, Data, Int.SDcard (optional) and Android Secure, then click Swipe to Wipe
4 - click on Install, choose ROM file and install it - click Swipe to Install, then click Reboot System
5 – go to TWRP, istall file UltimateV3_NewTransl&Patch5.zip - click Install, then Wipe Cache/Dalvik, finally click Restart to system
6 – finish
Instructions:
How does the new status bar works (colors are only for explanation)?
Green field – slide down -> shows applications reports
Orange pole – double click -> lock the screen
Blue pole – slide down -> shows the toolbar icons
Otional patches (install in TWRP, then click Wipe Cache/Dalvik, finally click Reset to system):
- Kernel110_old_disp.zip - core for old display type (install when your Gama is different from value 2.0)
- Modem_st_850.zip – for testing purposes, original THL modem 850/2100MHz. If you have problems with wifi/3G, try this. It will replace integrated 900/2100Mhz modem from Dimid (several people reported small problems, me not). This modem may be used in any Dimids ROM. If you do not have problems, do not install.
- DelWalkman.zip - who does not like integrated Sony Walkman player, can uninstall it by this patch (try uninstall if you have any problems with sound)
- UltimateV3_NewTransl&Patch3.zip adds missing translations, removes cyrrilic from all languages and installs all additional Dimid adjustments (fix Bluetooth, displaying G letters in Status bar, repair Permission Manager, Halllockscreen and EPO.DAT)
- UltimateV3_NewTransl&Patch4.zip adds missing translations, removes cyrrilic, installs all additional patches: Status.zip (corrects displaying G letters in Status bar), U_30_upd.zip (fix Bluetooth, fix Permission Manager, Halllockscreen and EPO.DAT), dyn_bar&extra.zip (Dynamic Status Bar + more information about the system in the "Settings/About device" (CPU, screen, and so on.)
- UltimateV3_NewTransl&Patch5.zip a small icons G | 3G enabled only when enabled data transfer + red LED on messages and missed calls.

Well, my last test: I copied my modem file from stock rom (modem_1_wg_n.img). This time I checked the permission and works but still, no GSM850 frequency. Seems that there is something else in the ROM that disables those frequencies (PCS1900 and GSM850). That's too bad. I've checked the description from classic and ultimates but all of them seem to go with the 900 modem so I guess all of them will be the same for me. Anyway thanks for your help.
Is there a way to get some of the enhancements in these ROMS on stock. Like swipe down from the corner and get the switches instead of notifications or colored icons in settings, etc?
I wrote you – GSM850 frequency will not work with this ROM!! You can not do anything. ROM is designed for Europe, where GSM 850MHz is not in use.

But I do not guarantee you that there will be GSM850 work. You have to try. Classic V3mod ROM I modified a long time ago. It's predecessor Ultimate ROM.
Yeah I know, but I did the test before seeing your message. I just wanted to clarify that it did not work with the stock modem file. Thanks for your help. I might check classic v3 and see how it goes.
The Modem_st_850 patch works fine, I have 3G connectivity without problems.
Me too. I think 900Mhz modem works could works only in Ukraina and RUssia.

A big thank you to everybody supporting this ROM! I got my THL 5000 last week, and this seems to be the ROM I want to keep.
I have a problem with the gamma-correction. Colors seem to be too dark, and too intense. I tried flashing several kernel versions, but it doesn't make any differences in the Display Tester. The gamma value seems to be stuck at around 1.4, regardless of the kernel version.
So far I tried these:

What else can I do to improve the display?
Maybe you have the first type of screen?
If you have too dark display, install patch Kernel110_old_disp.
The old display i mean.
1- install ROM
2 – install Display Tester apk - https://play.google.com/store/.....v.displaytester
3 – run Display Tester, go to Display quality, choose Gamma detection, will see bars with number, choose bar which have the same color as background -> the number on bar is your Gama
4 – normal gama value is around 2.0
5 – if your Gama value is 1.2 you have old type display, in TWRP install patch "Kernel110_old_disp", click to Wipe Cache/Dalvik and restart phone
6 – check Gama value again, now will be around 2.0
7 – done

I read exactly that, and I tried it. Yesterday, several times. A moment ago again. With the package you linked, and with some other packages I found on this site (under https://www.needrom.com/downlo.....ama-correction/). The only difference I see between the packages is that the kernel build date changes. After installing that package you mentioned, it's "Kernel-Version 3.4.67, Tue Sep 29 13:56:21 CST 2014". The gamma value stays the same, regardless of the kernel patch I install.
Oh, and since I have the possibility to chat with the creator of the rom: is it right that I loose features when I install later patches? I had patch UltimateV3_NewTranslPatch4 installed and saw the new menu on the "device information" page. After installing UltimateV3_NewTranslPatch5 that menu is gone?

"The gamma value stays the same" - This is simply not possible. Unless you did something wrong.

The value is at about 1.4, as I wrote in my original post. I've never seen anything else on this device, but I didn't check it with the stock ROM that it came with. At that time, I didn't know that there might be an issue…
I'm no expert in Android modification, but since the kernel's build date changes after I try another package, I would think that my procedure of installing it is right…?
I'm currently collecting some more data, installing one version after each other and writing down data. What I notice is that the content of boot.img seems to be different in Kernel110_old_disp1.zip and in Boot_Uboot_110.zip. File length is the same, but the md5-sums are different…
Hmm. No luck.
Kernel110_old_disp1.zip and Boot_Uboot_110.zip both lead to a kernel built on Tue Sep 29 13:56:21 CST 2014. Boot_Uboot_1113.zip is from Tue Dec 02 11:49:07 CST 2014, Boot_Uboot_112.zip from Tue Dec 23 14:28:35 CST 2014. Other than the compile times I can see no change on the device whatsoever. Tried the display tester after each boot, every time it says gamma is around 1.4.
Maybe it's my procedure… I use TWRP 2.8.1.0 from here (https://www.needrom.com/downlo.....d/twrp-2-8-1-0/). From the running phone I chose 'Reboot' and 'Recovery'. There, I select 'Install', select the zip-file from sd-card, swipe to confirm flash. The script output doesn't show any errors. Last messages are 'Update complete', 'Reboot system now' and 'Updating partition details'. I chose to wipe Cache & Dalvik, go back and reboot the system.
Is there potential for a mistake? Would I have to switch the phone off during the process? Or do a factory reset (tried that once, didn't make a difference)?
Install file Kernel110_old_disp.zip - go to TWRP, click Install, choose file Kernel110_old_disp.zip, after install clisk Wipe Ceche/Dalvik, then clisk Reboot to system. It is all. It works for all people.
If your is now "1.4", it means, you have new display – you should not have to install the patch.
Make full Wipe (select items: Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, Data, Int.SDcard (optional) and Android Secure, then click Swipe to Wipe) in TWRP and istall only ROM file "THL_5000_Ultimate_III.zip", do not install patch "Kernel110_old_disp.zip".
After installation, check Gama value. Will be around 2.0, I think.
