ROM Install :
CWM
Step 1: Download the custom card ROM copied to an external SD card root directory
Step 2: the shutdown state. While holding down:
Power button + volume button + volume key to enter the recovery mode, wipe data/ factory reset and
wipe cache partition
Step 3: Enter menu apply update from sdcard select the ROM
Step 4: Brush complete, restart the phone

Everything so far works fine except for Google+ not being able to install.
Trying to search in Google Play/YouTube/Whatsapp will Force Close/Crash.
look for the version 3.8.9, and install google gaps thats works fine for me
No go, still FC no matter which version I'm using. 3.8.5 or 3.8.9 already uninstalled and installed Play Store a lot of times and wiped data and reflashed rom more than 5 times.
Everytime I try to search in Whatsapp/YouTube/Play Store or launch Google Chrome I get FC.
Are you using the ROM in English or Chinese? I'm using it in English language.
After installation it looked OK but after installing Play Store the OS start crashing first – settings UI crashed and continued crashing, then Search in Play store, then several other things so it does not worth to install. Beside this if you try to install with a CWM lower then the version here (6.0.2 i think) which is in chenese won't install. I tried the very last version but nothing changed.
Gapps not working with this rom
All original MIUI roms i try to install i get an error… "assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "A830"…."
Any suggestions?

Do you have an etotalk ROM by any chance at the moment?
I was going to try renaming "A830" to "A820" in the build.prop file for the ROM, or perhaps vice versa on the phone. (It seems to be erroneously labelled as A820).
OK – I actually just edited the ROM file to remove the assert check from the update script, and it worked fine.
You should edit it with Gedit / Notepad etc from within the archive and just update the archive.
Also, I edited build.prop at the same time to change the system default language, country, and timezone to en, GB, Europe/London respectively, and that worked fine too.
This is a really slick ROM – couple of bugs though with version 30 – I can't select the SD card to store system data / apps, and Google Apps crashes if you try to search for things (it works fine otherwise though).
That's because you don't have a properly modded recovery.
It is good to have that safety measure in order to prevent installing the rom to different device, but without a proper recovery, update script does not detect it is actually A830, thus failing the check.
Thanks, tominglis! So, for now, i decided to use the stick original S118, and its working better than another Roms… Just 2 problemas.. One is the GPS, sometimes it stop, and Waze for example, just charge a error map written with a "BIG"… And the secoind headache is: sometimes, i need to reboot, because the system stays too slow…
But is the best Rom that i tried!
