DESCRIPTION


ROM Phone LENOVO A880 – ROM Android 4.2.2

Official ROM Lenovo A880 Version: Lenovo A880_S020_140109

No Gapps – No rooted

Language support: EN/CN

 

ROM Install :

1: the phone turned off (only shut down, do not pull the battery), and the phone do not connect the computer with the data cable, disconnect the cable

2: download ROM package first to extract, extract out of a folder

3: Extract the downloaded above down the Brush tool SP_Flash_Tool

4: And then to find out the unpacked folder SP_Flash_Tool [Flash_tool.exe] file, and then double-click to run

5: Scatter-loading button and then click on the corresponding software on the choice of software files.

6: Then select MT6582_Android_scatter.txt in just unzipped rom package folder

7: Then click on the check [DA DL All With Check Sum], check the name of the process, the whole tick:

8: Click [Firmware Upgrade] button

9: The phone in the off state, with usb data cable to connect your phone with a PC good start downloading automatically, without any action, is being downloaded (download time a bit longer, please be patient)

This case, unplug the cable re-brush once, not repeatedly try to restart the computer and try again the next.

 

10 And green circles display Finish !  You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on.

 

ROOT:

1. download vroot
2. Connect your phone to PC (USB debugging ticked) and start vroot. Click ROO and wait until the phone restarts. Disconnect it from the PC.
3. Download ClockworkMod superuser from the Play Store and launch the application. Update the binary.
4. Download Titanium Backup (with license) and from recent applications, close all open applications.
5. Start Titanium Backup and freeze vroot (recognizable at the end of list). Restart Clockworkmod SuperUser and put new update binary. Restart the phone.
6. VRoot uninstall with Titanium Backup

    Try using the MTKdroidTools to flash : https://mega.co.nz/#!ihhmHABK

    try using this tools to RE-Root your phone (for deloyang) try NOt to reflash the phone.

    It seeems that we need a Forum for this thread , This is not the best place to be discussing about this, I'll try to create a thread at XDA and will infrom you guys.

    You see the update by the ROM "poster" (the person who post this ROM), after I complain and rate him 1 star to NEEDROM? I also post ROM here but I always follow up by visiting and replying from time to time the ROM I post (I am not that sophisticated to cook ROM) but I have to be responsible to the people who downloaded the ROM.

    GApps for Android 4.2.2 can be downloaded from CWM depositories CWM version 10.1 release Nov 2013. or from NEEDROM Homepage "GApps download"

    I cant help you out until I receive my A880 latest 10-Feb, maybe help out on ADB script thats all I can do and I will be moving this discussion onto XDA Forum, Iw ill post the address here.

    But to manually install the GApps you need to "root" it first , first check busybox  after obtaining root and beware of Exploit that needs to install busybox at the same time it tries to root (SuperSU/user.apk + su), if the firmware already has busybox installed then it is screwed.

    cracktech i will be waiting for your help… i have installed gapps manually using root explorer but play store crash often.. i cant use google search either.. the main reason I flashing this rom because i uninstalled the supersu app and then i cant seems to root anymore… and this rom seems different from my stock rom which is has bootscreen “lenovo” and this one has chinese “wwo” or sumthing.. GPS also doesnt work it wont turn on.. i have tried to root using framaroot and motochopper both failed.. then i flash again and then i used vroot and success… I need someone extract their a880 rom which has bootscreen “lenovo” and gapps..

      for playstore does it connect and able to be identified by Google Dbase? If Ok (while it was working intermittently) you could try to RootUninstall the Playstore and reinstall Playstore as an after market installation you can google for the latest version from Forums.

      I think yes you are right it is a customs ROM from China I got a lead from over there too. But still skeptical and wary of using their customs ROM with CWM. I will be pestering the local LENOVO service center here (Malaysia) for a stock A880 ROM or else I will make it clear on the local scene that they are releasing these A880 without firmware and see their reactions.I am on a local LENOVO fan club (just join for the heck of it to pressure LENOVO Malysia to release the ROM, these local forums are basically a bunch of noobs  and traders).

      Who the hell sold you the A880, may I ask?

    I advise any one who wants to install Gapps not to install GoogleSearchBox.apk/ GooglePlus inside inside  their /system/app folder better to install it outside as after market install. (please unisntall thro RootUninstaller these two(2) GApp  and reinstall from Playstore or sideload it.Use some app that can convert /data/app into /system/app especiallyy after uninstalling Playstore and installing or sideloading it. even on my CM10.2 (Android 4.3.1) the GApps doesnt come with the GooglePlus and GoogleSearchBox

    Because I had a problem on previous devices that sometimes these causes boot loops  if install as /system/app and that without a working adb script the only thing to do is to reflash.
