I found this ROM on a Russian forum (I am not the author): (http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=677076&st=960)
It works very well.
Does not work: fingerprint scanner, proximity sensor, the Home button does not wake up the phone.
The rest runs smoothly.
I would recommend, although it still requires refine.
Maybe someone can run the HOME button and fingerprint scanner?
(Home button works with xposed – see in comments on page 3 - thanks to abdelm7910)
Maybe someone could prepare some other patches?

02.09.2016: Add a update to MIUI 8 (6.8.11) – the file I found on russian forum (thanks to Bosanova1917 – http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=677076&view=findpost&p=52661926).
Everything works fine. I do update without wipe.

I just got root installing rom the TWRP ROM Version: 2.8.7.0
Perfect!
I am using Miui 8 with running home button. Best ROM no doubt
BEST ROM. You get the highest battery time if you deactivate the find device and the MIUI account (use titanium pro to freeze them)
Does this one work on the Ulefone Power? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm rookie on this whole flashing and roms thing
By very far, simply the BEST rom available for ulefone be touch 2.
Just freeze the find device app, install Xbridge+Xposed installer+ Xposed additions for home button, and install the volume booster goodev app (boost volume choose max 20℅).
No security hole. Auto record calls. Private box for sms. Extra long battery duration.
Now perfect phone.
Ulefone builds good phones but has a lousy team of developers.

To have the root in miui 8: Install for first the previous version …. than flash from twrp recovery miui8 without wipe. You will find root.
Or install using TWRP 2.8.7.0
Can make Wipe dalvik cache, cache, data, system and also recommend internal storage
