Have you succeed to create the recovery for your phone?
Hi,
First, about Antutu and the H9008 front camera, this tool and most others are not always reliable as according to them I shouldn't be able to use the 900 MHz and 2100 Mhz baseband and so my device shoudn't be able the 3G internet connection when it is working fine. Now for some weird reasons the MTK baseband engineerMode has just vanished and I can't check this opyion anymore ?!?!?!?!
But let's say you're right and the H9008 has a 13 MPx front camera.
About your non booting Star H9008 with kitkat, have you tried to flash the Mlais kitkat firmware untouched (no modified boot.imd and no recovery.img files) ???
For you last question, the answer is in my last comment…
YES, I succeeded to create a non touch english recovery but the texts are very tiny !
I didn't try to create a touch recovery version as I don't care about it for now…
My concern for now is to find out the Mlais MX 69 Pro device specifications and the config.gz file for the kernel in order to create my own version of the firmware but the "official" devs are not very collaborative and as it's impossible to rip out this config.gz from the kernel…
Hello.
JJust flashed under kitkat my MX 69 pro wich returned from repairing….
What is the difference bitween OTA and other roms ?
I still get the bug "small window crashed" when i use the google play music application. does someone know how to supress it ?
Thank you.
Normally, OTA is the procedure with which you receive a full firmware or an update/upgrade directly from your phone wirelessly : via wifi or through your phone operator network (depending of your data plan, this could be very costly, so better use wifi when possible).
With other phone brands such as Samsung, once you get the OTA file, the system will ask you if you want to do the update/upgrade and then all is done automatically : backing up your apps and data, doing the system update and then restoring your apps and data.
With Mediatek and probably Cyanogenmod, once you get the OTA file (in zip format), you have to go to the recovery and to do the update manually… ^^
1) when the recovery is in chinese, this is very "funny" (sigh) unless you have another Android phone and you use Google translate and when it is smart enough to give you a reliable translation…
2) From now, I have never been able to do an OTA update without the official : so in chinese which I can't read and understand. Never succeeded to do it with a Touch recovery or a translated non touch recovery provided by the dev since I found out the procedure to generate an english non touch recovery as lastly explain in my previous comment…
3) If the OTA file is supplied here in Needrom, this is in case you can't get it from your phone and so you can get it from your PC.
4) With Mediatek/Cyanogenmod OTA, there is no guarantee your apps and data will be preserved so you have to backup all your apps and data with third party apps, and most of the time you will have to recreate your settings, your widgets and your shortcuts in the home screen and the like.
- About your issue with Google Play Music, I guess you downloaded it yourself from the Google play, but as I don't use this app I can't help you. Sorry !
Try to uninstall it and to reinstall it. Maybe this should help but I can't tell. Otherwise you may have to do a partial or full wipe… ^^
Arobase 40.
Thank you for the answer about OTA. As you said, i used to have an HTC phone, and OTA meant over the air.
No need to go through recovery to update phone… Ok
Yes, i downloaded google music from google play. But my mlais is using its 4 th OS, ? 4.2, Mlais OS 2 (4.2), MLais OS 2.5 (4.2, no difference…), Mlais Kit Kat 4.4. So flashed and wiped each time, and still the bug comes back…
I'll live with it. Some times nothing, sometimes, 10 times a day. This is a chinese, not so bad working phone, a little buggy. At the price you cant expect HTC or Samsung quality and support…
Regards
I've now been testing this rom for a week.
It is Far better than the old 4.2.
It is very stable and pretty fast :i've been given a score of 29000 under Antutu 5 with google now launcher.
The phone's deep sleep is very efficient, you can keep it alive more than 4 day (if you don't use it…)
I'ts root, and with google play, of course. All the syncs with google ecosystem works perfectly; that was not true with the first 4.2 rom i used
Except the "smallwindow" bug, the rest works very well.
Thank you for it.
Well, even though this version is better than the old 4.2, I'm not very happy with it as I'm too much accustom with the quality of big brand's firmwares (specially from Samsung). Deep sleep isn't that good with mine, so I had to install and use DS Eco Battery apps which is really a wonderful tools !!! You should try it and you'll be amazed !
With Samsung devices I don't really need it as deep sleep is naturally so fine. But with DS Eco Battery it is even better. LOL
Then the Mlais MX69 Pro is lacking too many sensors, so except for the dual-sims and despite the price this device is mostly useless for my needs. I guess I will sell it as I just ordered a Galaxy Note 3 4G LTE… ^^
I didn't want to give a dime to Samsung anymore, but most of their hardwares and software are so much better, I couldn't resist…
For the same price or even lower I could buy a Galasy S5, but it is too small for my fingers (the virtual keyboard) and the storage is half of the GNote 3… ^^
So long guys
Hi Arobase.
As you said, Samsung, HTC or Sony make better roms. This is true. I used to have an HTC one S, and i currently own a galaxy 4S (from my job).
But, chinese brands can do things better. My wife owns a Wiko (french brand, Tinos full Chines hardware rebranded – Mediatek SOC). It work well, not so buggy as MLAIS.
My next phone will perhaps be chinese, but i'll pay attention to the quality of rom : I target a oneplusone, coz cyanogen's releases are quality ones.
A friend of mine owns one, and it is a very good device/ firmware.
Hi raoulito,
I don't know what you mean when you said chinese brands can do things better ???
The sole advantages are dual-sim for low price. For the rest, they just offer the "minimum" in term of hardware such as sensors and ALL Mediatek devices have in common the same problem with GPS fix with (very) bad firmware : kind of subset of Cyanogenmod : Wifi and 3G connection are very bad as they pumped up the battery very fast and I can see only one third of the available hotspots compared to any Samsung devices, and I can't attached to any free or WEP hotspots…
Wiko devices are even worse, as they just offer 4 or 8GB internal storage for the same price or even higher prices than other chinese brands, such as Mlais, Zopo and such…
Zopo ZP998 is my prefered devices, but it has no 32GB version, and the firmware is even not better as it is built more or less by the same developpers… ^^
I don't even like Cyanogenmod as it has no original features or fonctionnalies.
I just received my Galaxy Note 3 a few days ago and it's really nights and days !!! I don't even talk about what is specific to the GNote, but simply about Wifi, 3G/4G LTE, battery life and any "normal" sensors such as GPS, magnetometer, compass…
The firmware is TOP of the TOP as created by real professionnal developers… ^^
I also bought a Sandisk 128GB micro SDXC card, and I didn't need to reformat it to Fat32 as it was recognized "out of the box" whether with my new Galaxy Note 3 or with my older Galaxy Note 1 with exFat. My GNote 1 has his own 64GB exFat Samsung micro SDXC card (70MB/20MB)…
My Wifi and 3G connections are much much better, whatever the phone operators and the battery life is still PRETTY good including with default deep sleep (I mean no need of third party apps).
As you seem to be a french user, you should know what FreeWifi_secure is, and here again I'm able to use this free Wifi hotspot with my Samsung devices (I don't own any other brands, except this Mlais…) when this is just impossible with The Mlais.
OK, I know this isn't the same price !!!
But as long as Mediatek and Mediatek based brands aren't "fixing" the missing or non working sensors (GPS), and as long as they don't supply better firmwares, I don't think this is a good deal for "mid advanced" uses.
The other trade off with Mediatek is that they refuse to supply the (open source) drivers and source codes !!!
If you can live with the limited hardwares and firmwares, then Mediatek devices are a good choice specially due to the low price !
As I previouly said, what I will miss is the dual-sims and specially the dual-sims standby…
I guess I'll try dual-sims adapter even though I know there are only single standby dual-sims… at that time… ^^ Snif
This is just my own opinion and the reason I won't buy any other Mediatek devices (hopefully I got my money back with this Mlais MX69 Pro), and why I won't recommand them to others… Or at least, I'll tell them what they would/should expect with such devices…
Hello friends,
I tried to flash this rom on my Mlais MX69 Pro and receive this message on SP Flash Tool :
'PMT CHANGED OF THE ROM, IT MUST BE DOWNLOADED".
From what I have researched other sites, the problem would be in the Scatter File. Can someone help me?
