Does anyone have info about changelog on ROM4 for S3SW ?

What has changed compared to the buil dated 2015-02-13 ?

    Drivers here: http://www.mediafire.com/downl.....rivers_v1.6.zip

With some luck (I guess one always needs some luck with Windows XP),
I got the S3SW flash custom 'download' working, and, by unticking
preloader, recovery and userdata in Flashtool, nothing was lost. Not
sure if I could have flashed preloader as well. One comment, device is
now 'Model' S3. It used to be S3S but in fact it is S3SW. No problem:
I see 3Gb RAM, and NFC works.

    OK,

I manged installing the drivers and burn the ROM successefuly:

    ROM 4 - S3SW 20150314-141844 – mt6752_h560_s3sw_jyt_cc_128-24_kk_lte_5m-cs_mul_tphone – KTU84P – Advanced – 3G Ram – gapps – Multilang

However, for some reason the phone does not register to the cellular network anymore although it recognises it. I think there is something wrong with the ROM.

ROM working perfectly fine here. Maybe you messed up your IMEI number during the flash?

    • 03/22/2015

I read so many posts about IMEI gone wrong. … Keep fingers crossed, this did not happen for me. But then: does someone know what breaks IMEI?

Is it perhaps the preload partition?

I got mine working, this is what I did:

I came across a lot of problems as windows, for some reason, does not like the Jiayu drivers so the first time I flashed windows switched my device off  and corrupted the rom install. I was stuck with a phone that would not boot, it was just suck in the Jiayu logo.
FYI my phone would go into recovery mode!

I got it fixed eventually. This is what I did:

    1. Format computer (you may now have to if you have not yet connected your phone to your pc, if you did try using a different USB)

    2. Download the drivers from here and unzip onto desktop
    http://thebroodle.com/microsof.....t/wind…rs-in-windows/

    3. Connect the switched on phone to the PC (via USB) and windows will install some drivers

    4. Once install finishes disconnect phone from pc

    5. Turn phone off

    6. Open pc device manager (right click on computer, click on manage. New window will open, on the left side of the window select device manager)

    7. Turn on flashtool
(follow this tutorial and use their tools: [URL="http://www.spemall.com/forum/t.....3-advanced//URL) and pressed download

    8. Go back to device manager window

    9. Connect switched off phone to PC via USB

    10. Go to device manager and waited for MTK65XX to appear under other devices
(this only shows up for a few seconds so keep a close eye on it) – if you miss it disconnect the phone from PC and start over!

    11. Right clicked on MTK65XX

    12. Select update driver

    13. Click on Browse

    14. Selected USB driver folder (downloaded from the above website)

    15. Click ok

    16. Windows should have now installed the correct drivers

    17. Flastool will start working straigt away (first the bar at the bottom of the flastool becomes green, then red, then purple then yellow with a % progression)

    18. Go for a coffee

    19. Wait until you get a big green tick on the screen

Flash complete and phone is working! Sigh of relief and curse windows repeatedly :)

I don't know why my second link isn't working. Here it is now:

@Nofan Tasi – Yes indeed, I agree the IMEI partition is located within the preloader partition. In fact, when I performed the upgrade, it skipped over this partition – I guess the Flashtools application knows not to overwrite it, unless asked by the user. In fairness, I think the IMEI number gets deleted because people are selecting the ‘Format All & Download’ in Flashtools during the flashing process. They only need to select ‘Firmware Upgrade’ from that dropdown list and they should be fine. The official Jiayu app actually has a function to backup the IMEI details to a file, which is very handy to do at least once.

@mistress_gi – Check your IMEI is present and correct after all that flashing.
