Install ROM:
 V2 and up

Download desired zip and copy on sdcard.

You need a modified recovery to install the firmware and updates. If you have it already, proceed to step 3. If you don't have, follow these steps:

1. Download Lenovo drivers, unzip the archive. Turn off the phone and remove battery. Open device manager and connect the phone to PC. Watch for new devices. It will be displayed as МТ65хх Preloader. You need to be quick, because it will dissapear in some second. Click on it with the right button and select update driver. Point the wizard to the driver folder, it will install the correct driver automatically.
If it doesn't work with removed battery you can try to power on the phone and turn on developer options in settings or enter meta mode – hold Volume Down and Power buttons. Then connect the phone to PC again.
2. Download and extract Recovery zip and Flash tools. Run Flash Tools, click on DL DA All With Check Sum, load the scatter file located in Recovery folder, uncheck Preloader and hit Download (F6). Remove battery from phone and connect it to PC. When done, a green circle will appear.
3. Enter recovery mode – hold Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons until you see the logo. Make a backup of your current system first. Install new zip.

※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM

    Hey, people. First of all sorry for the really late replies. This doesn't mean the project has been abandoned.

    I still have the A820 and use it every day.

    All PMs are now answered, but I think it would be too late for most of them. Anyway, I answered everyone, but if someone still hasn't received an answer, don't hesitate to ask again.

    Answers to questions in the thread will follow shortly.

    Hi!

    Its sad that there is no FAQ. How can I enlarge internal memory to install

    more apps?

      No FAQ but discussed in this thread. Search for "Meteos" app then "Disable internal memory" a few post ago..

      I recommend to not "disable" internal SD. It can cause problems, when you will want to change your ROM to anotherone. Better way is to enlarge your Internal Memory and lower your USB mem (User space on Internal SD).

      In Meteos app you can choose 2,77 GiB for Internal (system) Memory and about 15 MB for user mem.

      But you will need to change Storage Place to SD card in Settings, of course.

      It doesn't matter when you're installing a new rom. The change is only done to a file in the system partition which gets wiped once you do a format of /system before installing a new rom.

    First of all it is the best of all the roms i tested. Thanks for your work. My problem started today the three buttons (home, previous,  …) sometimes stop to work. Then in random time they work again. Maybe a Hardware problem??? Whats your oppinion???

    Very good ROM, very good! Excelent work!

    It seems to be stable. It will be fine to have step by step guide, how to translate it to another language. There is, of course, my language, but 50% things are in English. :-)

    sorry or my late reply but i was off grid for few days. after few weeks of using my new phone i can report that my old one performed much better. the screen is not as resposnive and for some reason the picture does not look as sharp as my old one. also there is the light bleeding at the bottom of the screen i have mentioned in my previous post. the screen and the buttons are not as responsive as my old one and it is driving me crazy. i tought with time i will get used to it but it still annoys me. also i am noticing drop in performance – for instance i like to stream online radio stations and there is a lost of sound if i am doing something else at the same time like flicking through screens or typing messages etc. all those things never happened with the old phone. and i am using the same rom with same launcher etc… that was what made me think i have a fake phone at the beginning

      Oh, sad to hear that. On the good side, you could find a good sample on the second hand, from the earlier batches. However, it might just be the assemblying, as I stated on another thread, changing the digitizer did have some lag effects, I believe some digitizers do not respond very quickly. Also, I took it apart after the service guy replaced the digitizer, and cleaned the connecting ribbons, reinsert them good, carefully placing the thermal pad (I believe it is a pad user for thermal conduction, amongst others maybe), the buttons, and now it works good, like in the begining. I am telling you these because, as you say, if the chispets are the same, the only different things could be the assemblying. Oh, and by the way, I do have an extra screen, never user, and some digitizers (if I could find them), as I changer about 3 or four of them :)

    hi,

    i use the 2.4.1 rom for a long period withoutproblems (very good job!!! infrared), but now i have a wifi problem. The icon after a while , when i turn "on" the wifi, turns from "blue" color to "white" color ,  and the receiving/sending speed reduce to minimum or to 0…

    How can i fix it ?

      hi vaslat

      i had similar problems to your. i think it is something to do with your router and the way it recognises the wifi adapter on your phone. my permanent solution to your problem was to assign static ip address to my phone on the router. in that case there is no more white icon wifi for me. on the phone side long press your wifi connection and select "modify network". tick "show advanced options" and under IP settings select "static". now you will see more options. type ip address from the range your router assign to your devices (make sure it i a free IP address which is not used by another device :)  ). then type in Gateway (your router address). my network prefix is 24, i have selected DNS1 as my router ip address. then click "save" and all done :) !. now to be on the safe side get access to your router web page and search for your phone IP address in your settings. there should be an option offering you to allways assign same ip address to this devise (or a similar thing). select it and the phone should be good to go :)

      good luck

      Clear wlan list in phone with “forget”, then refresh routers list. “White” wifi i think is without security, “white wifi” happed to me when i connected to 1 router. Trying connect to other with wpa – wifi “white”. I delete from list “infected” first router, then others and vuale – now wifi again is “blue”.
      Or edit /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf by deleting:
      network={
      ssid=”*******”
      scan_ssid=1
      psk=”********”
      key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
      sim_slot=”-1″
      imsi=”none”
      pcsc=”none”
      }

    Great Roms, thanks.

    I’ve updated the ROM to the latest version and repartitioned the device. I had a mobikeuncletools imei.bak backup after accidentally wiping the imei with spflashtools previously. I removed the battery and sent the phone abroad to my mum as a gift. The removed battery lost the Imei again. While mobileuncle says ‘success’when she tries to restore the backup file, it actually doesn’t work. I seem to remember an imei restore option built into the new ROM, but I don’t remember where. Any suggestions please? I need an option that I can explain to an 80 year old parent, Thanks.
