Step 1: Download the custom ROM copied to an external SD card root directory
Step 2: the shutdown state. While holding down:
– Power button + volume button up, to enter the recovery mode.
– Wipe Data / Factory Reset -> delete all user data
– Wipe Cache Partition -> Wipe cache
– Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache
Step 3: Return to recovery main interface Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard -> Select your ROM
Step 4: Brush complete, restart the phone Patience required – first boot takes a while
※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM

Refer to ur repliy dated 11/4 2:48pm , instruction is to flash via TWRP not via flash_tool…
I tried vroot and shaume. Someone did root?
how to get google contact sync using this rom?
is this rom based on stock kitkat update for S650 or just a port?
I do not instail through TWRP, it informs fail
just to clear some problems and questions here,
1) must be flashed through TWRP ( if you were on ROW rom before, flah CN version of TWRP then flash rom, that should stop the fail message !! ), it was not intended to flash with flash tool !!
2) you can flash it on any s650 phone, does not matter if you were on CN or ROW before, just make sure you use CN TWRP to flash this to stop fail message !!
3) to use google apps you need to download GAPPS for 4.4.2 roms and flash using TWRP, just clear cache and dalvik first and then reboot after flashed GAPPS, then you will see google setup on start of the phone or you will see it in settings / add account !!!
4) if you don't have TWRP installed, you must first download TWRP for CN and put it in the phone storage ( rename to recovery.img ) and then use mobile uncle tool from play store, recovery update option, you will see the recovery.img listed, just choose this and reboot to recovery, then when you choose to reboot from recovery it will ask if you want to install superuser, slide to agree and phone will reboot, now go to superuser and update, now you have root and now you can flash this rom !!!!
In addition to my above comment:
If you do not have root previously, you must root the phone using VROOT ( english version available ), install on the computer, make sure phone is in debugging mode ( you will see a small box when you insert usb, tick the box to choose debugging ), then when you are connected your phone will show automatically in VROOT and you need to click the button, phone will reboot and you will see the root app in the phone !!
This must be done to use mobile uncle tools mentioned above, in order to flash recovery.img !!!!!

A few there. TWRP are all for OPPO not a single one meant for Lenovo S650.

there are still small things in chinese and a few chinese apps, nothing preventing normal use though !
If you know how to use root explorer app then you can delete the chinese apps from the system but still a bit of chinese in theme center and on call screen etc. like befor in alder versions !!

steps to upgrade from viberom 1.0.
1. download zip file to sd card (i renamed it to update.zip, because the first time did not worked for some reason ).
2. shutdown phone.
3. push power button and when starting push volume down + up. when lenovo logo appears release power button.
4. now you should be in recovery menu if timing in 3. is ok.
5. choose to update from sd card.
6. congratulations. now you have kitkat.
